It highlights major activities and progress made under each component or strategic objective during the period under the review. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Key results/outcomes during this period included the following: 22,923 livestock vaccinated, comprising 16,077 cattle and 6,846 sheep/goats, by the three L4G sponsored SVPPs in Koro and Bankass. This resulted in a total gross margin of 1,604.610 CFA or 3,209 USD despite the lower turn out rate due to the transhumance and insecurity problems 294 small holder producers (199 women; 95 men) were trained in various techniques including criteria for selecting the right animals, combination of feeding ingredients for the feed rations, hay enrichment with urea, production of multi-nutritional licking blocks, and estimation of the animal weight gains with zoometric tapes 605 KG of groundnut flower 11 seeds were collected and will be distributed to those farmers in need for the next season PO’s (producer organizations) from Goundam (Timbuktu) and Koro (Mopti) harvested 115,898 KG of fodder and sold 37,513 KG for a total value of 11,627,150 CFA or 23,254 USD. At the same time, 21 POs from Koro, Bankass, and Bandiagara produced 239 Multi-nutritional blocks (MNLBs) which sold for a total value of 89,500 CFA or 179 USD 1,700 animals, comprising 335 cattle, 882 sheep and 483 goats, were purchased by 78 PO’s and 28 individual producers for fattening activities. 1,417 animals (cattle, sheep, and goats) were sold to local markets for a total value of 118,881,600 CFA, or 237,763 USD. Moreover, 171 cattle from Dire (Timbuktu) and Bankass were exported for a total value of 65,785,000 CFA or 131,570 USD to Ivory Coast BNDA Bank and the Micro-finance institutions (MFIs) disbursed 11 Million CFA/ 22, 000 USD in loans to a PO and an individual from Bankass COMPONENT IR1: INCREASED ANIMAL PRODUCTIVITY SUB IR 1.1. ENHANCED TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT, DISSEMINATION, MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATION TASK1.1.1 TASK 1.1.1 MODERNIZE ANIMAL HEALTH DELIVERY SYSTEMS VETERINARY SERVICES ACTIVITIES During this period, 22,923 animals were vaccinated against Pasteurellosis by our two (02) SVPP in Bankass. This activity generated a total gross margin of 1,604,610/ 3,209 USD. Please refer to Table 1 below for details. These PO’s generated a 89,500 CFA/ 179 USD. For further details, please, refer to Table 2 below. L4G will continue the identification of POs and the redistribution of seeds on the basis of the contract between L4G and the beneficiaries. SUB-IR 1.2 INCREASE ACCESS TO QUALITY INPUTS AND SERVICES TASK 1.2.2 IMPROVE ACCESS TO ANIMAL NON-HEALTH INPUTS, FACILITIES AND ADVISORY SERVICES FODDER PRODUCTION L4G has been promoting “Fodder/Forage as a Business (FAAB)” for the past two years. This year, several PO’s starting implementing the FAAB strategy by producing fodder for self-consumption and the commercial market. Table 5 below provides further details with regard to the fodder production and corresponding
