Both of my uncles are disabled. One died last year and one is 42 year old with Down Syndrome and we also saw so many children who are suffering. That is why I registered an NGO so that I help those patients who want help. Here in Jammu Kashmir according to Census 2011 total 8 lakh (800.000) people have different disabilities. Here we have no early intervention centers, no rehab centers, and other facilities like inclusive education. Here in Jammu & Kashmir according to records of Govt survey 90.000 Children are suffering different disabilities and parents are not able to find any good rehab centers and professionals. Our organization has the dream to start Rehabilitation center where children with different disabilities come for different therapies like PT, OT, Special education, Speech therapy and some Vocational training. I believe every child deserve equal rights. We also want to invite professionals across the Globe to come to Kashmir and meet parents and special children and spend some time with these beautiful children's and train parents and therapist. Our organization wants to associate with any international organization who helps special need children in Kashmir, so that parents get relief. We want to construct building 5 rooms and washroom where we want to provide different and regular therapies. Our aim is to provide training to parents. Our aim and future are to offer community-based rehabilitation, in Srinagar and in the rural areas. Especially in the rural area’s parents cannot find Rehabilitation centers and miss early intervention, most needed for special needs babies. Land and building for STD Foundation Zaheer Jan has been given this land from his father/family. He does not have to pay rent. This piece of land is easily accessible from road and in particularly good location. The building will belong to STD Foundation. The land lease agreement between Zaheer Jan and his father is part of this proposal. .

ABSTRACT Kashmir valley which is functionally a city-centered region, for the geographical, historical, socio-economic forces of urbanization have shaped and contributed to the emergence of urban primacy of Srinagar city. Being the single largest city, Srinagar constitutes around two-third of the state's urban population. The socio-cultural artifacts of Srinagar city is the accretion of a long period of time as over a period of six hundred years or so, the city has cradled itself between the hills of Hariparbat (Hawal) and Shankaracharya (Dalgate) along the banks of the river Jhelum. The present city thus stands as a mirror to reflect the complex historical background of the various stages which it has passed through. Srinagar City has grown enormously in the last twenty years. Apropos to this, the present study tries to analyse and examine the spatial, socio- economic, historical and related characteristics of the Srinagar metropolis- the Heart of Valley. The authors suggested some revival measures for better urban management of the historic Srinagar city. Executive Summary Jammu & Kashmir experienced one of the worst floods in the past 60 years, during first week of September 2014, due to unprecedented and intense rains. The Jhelum River and its tributaries were in spate and caused extensive flooding in the region. The Decision Support Centre (DSC) of NRSC in collaboration with Department of Environment & Remote Sensing, J&K took necessary action on satellite data acquisition and processing and kept a close watch on the flood situation. All possible data from Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) satellites, as well as foreign satellites, covering Kashmir valley were obtained and analyzed. Rapid flood mapping and monitoring was done on almost daily basis and the flood inundation information was prepared. In addition, cumulative flood inundation, flood progression and recession maps were also prepared. Flood inundation simulation study was done using CARTO-DEM for Jhelum River to identify the possible flood affected areas and the same was uploaded on Bhuvan portal.
