HOLLAWAY Most Puissant General Grand Master 1993-1996 General Grand Master Dalvin L. Hollaway, was born in Ontario, California, on April 1, 1941, the son of Dean and Virginia <Wolfe) Hollaway. He received his formal education in the public schools of Ontario, California. on January 23, 1960, he was married to Shirley M. Wylam, at Ontario, California. To this union was born one son and one daughter. They are blessed with a granddaughter and a grandson. As an insurance agent and broker he has owned and operated his own agency for more than a quarter of a century. He has been called upon to teach insurance courses in the state of Oregon for accreditation of students. More recently he has established a travel agency in his hometown of Canyonville, Oregon. He is a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, and has been ordained a Deacon. He has taught a Sunday School Class for more than 30 years. In civic activities he is a past secretary of the Lions Club, former member of the fire department, where he served as Fire Chief for five years. He served as chairman of the Canyonville Pioneer Days Celebration for several years, and is a life member of the National Rifle Association. MASONIC AFFILIATIONS In symbolic Masonry, he is a life member, south umpqua Lodge No. 72, A.F. & A.M. He served as worshipful Masterin 1974 and 1978. He is also a member of warren Lodge No. 10, Progressive Lodge No. 225, Glacier Lodge No. 10, F. & A.M. of Anchorage, Alaska. He was first elected to the progressive line of the Grand Lodge of Oregon in 1986, and served as Most worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Oregon in 1989-1990. He is also the Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of Nevada, near the Grand Lodge of Oregon. In capitular Masonry our General Grand Master is a member of Laurel Chapter No. 3 1, R.A.M. where he served as Excellent High Priest in 1972. He is the Grand Representative of the Grand Chapter of Texas near the Grand Chapter of Oregon. He was ordained a member of Hodson council Holy order of High Priesthood in Oregon. In cryptic Freemasonry our M. P. companion is a member of Laurel council No. 17, where he served as Illustrious Master in 1973, and served as Master of Arch No. 6 in 1975·76. He progressed through the official line and was elected Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand council of Oregon in 1982. comp. Hollaway is the Grand Representative of the Grand councils of Maine and California near the Grand council of Oregon. He served as General Grand sentinel of the General Grand council of cryptic Masons International in 1984-1987. Jn that year he was elected General Grand Principal conductor of the work of the General Grand council of cryptic Masons International and served in 1987-1990. In 1990-1993 he served with distinction as Deputy General Grand Master of the General Grand council and on September 14, 1993, he was elevated to the highest station in cryptic Masonry and became the General Grand Master of General Grand council cryptic Masons International. In Chivalric Masonry our distinguished member is a member of Ascalon commandery No. 14, where he served as Eminent commander 1971-1974. In the Scottish Rite he is a member of Roseburg Valley A.A.S.R. southern Jurisdiction - 32"0 Degree. These honors have qualified our distinguished member for membership in Oregon Priory No. 37, Knights of the York cross of Honour where he served as Eminent Prior in 1988 and was decorated with the Knight York Grand cross of Honour with two quadrants. His membership in the appendent bodies include the Red cross of Constantine, in st. Janus conclave, serving as sovereign in 1989. In the Allied Masonic Degrees he is a Past sover~ign of Solomon council No. 222, and is a Past Grand sovereign Master of the Grand council, Allied Masonic Degrees of the United states. companion Hollaway is a member of the York Rite sovereign college of North America in Champoeg York Rite College No. 96. He is a member of the order of Silver Trowel of Oregon, the Royal order of Scotland and has been decorated with the honorary Legion of Honor in the Order of DeMolay. Morrisette, Jr. presiding. Following an opening prayer, the Companions Pledged Allegiance to the Flag of their country. General Grand Master Hollaway extended a warm welcome to all present, and expressed his sincere appreciation of the companions attending the Thirty Ninth Triennial Assembly. He expressed a special thanks to the Grand council of North Carolina for opening the Triennial Assembly, and for their support over the years.
