Grandma’s Potato Salad Recipe What’s a BBQ without potato salad? Ingredients: 8 Russet Potatoes 3 Celery Stalks, diced Diced Dill Pickles, to taste Diced Red Onion 8 Hard-Boiled Eggs, peeled 1 Cup Mayonnaise 1/4 Cup Dijon Mustard Salt and Pepper Rinse and scrub excess dirt off of your potatoes. Stab each potato with a fork to puncture it. Bring a pot of water to a boil then place potatoes in the pot. Make sure your potatoes are covered with water and reduce the heat. Allow it to sim- mer until the potatoes are tender. In another pot, start to boil your eggs. Set a timer for two minutes per egg. When the eggs are done remove them from the water and allow them to chill in an ice water bath, then peel and set aside. Remove the potatoes from water and allow them to cool off. Once your potatoes are cooled off, remove the skin then dice them. Next chop up your celery, onion, and the eggs. (Reserve a couple of eggs for garnishing your salad). In a large bowl, mix everything together. Put in a serving dish and top with paprika and sliced boiled eggs. ENJOY! Health and Safety ER visits often peak in the summer months. Protect yourself and your loved ones by avoiding these 5 most common summer acci- dents and illnesses. See an animal unattended in a vehicle Report it! ACT FAST. SAVE A LIFE. If you spot an unattended pet in a vehicle that appears to be suffering from heat exhaustion, do not hesitate to call your local Police or another first responder agency. Parked cars can quickly reach deadly temperatures Report animal welfare concerns 24/7 by even on relatively mild days, calling 1-833-9ANIMAL (1-833-926-4625) with the windows open. Dogs have a limited ability to sweat. Their normal body temperature usually sits at 39 degrees. At 41 degrees a dog can only withstand this for a short period of time before brain damage and death can occur! If you suspect heat stroke in a dog (Excessive panting, drooling, unconscious- ness) immediate vet care is important! In the interim wet the dogs fur with luke warm to cool water. Not cold water! Bring the dog out of the sun and offer drinking water. #NoHotPets For more information or inquiries contact your local SPCA Barrie.
