The Kingsport, Tenn. native scored 11 of the next 13 points for the Lady Bucs - pulling ETSU within eight, 32-24, after Pickwell knocked down her fourth 3-pointer of the half with four minutes left before intermission. Eventually the Tar Heels took a 39-26 advantage into the locker room.

The three-point shot continued to keep the Lady Bucs within striking distance in the opening stages of the second half as Pickwell and junior Gwen Washington (Manassas, Va.) each netted threes, making it 45-32 after Washington sank her first long distance shot of the season at the 16:12 mark.

However, with the Tar Heels leading 47-34, the Lady Bucs went over seven minutes without a point and UNC opened a 39-point lead, 73-34, after Jessica Breland made one of her two free throw attempts with 8:14 remaining.

The Tar Heels led by as many as 43 points (85-42) when Shannon Smith found Laura Broomfield open for a jumper at with two minutes left.
