DAVID (Dave) GOTKIN . . . 6—1 . . . 175 lbs. . . . Sophomore . . . New York City, N. Y. Probably one of the most brilliant players in recent years. Gotkin moved into the varsity lineup in late February after recovering from a broken wrist, sustained in pre-season practice. He got into only seven games, including the Southern Conference Tournament and NCAA but stamped himself as a great star, particularly for his change—of—pace dribble and ability to score well from the outside. ~A top high school player, Dave was All-City and All-Brooklyn while at Thomas Jefferson High under Coach Mac Hodesblatt. He was named the Most Outsanding Athlete his senior year. Enrolled in Rural and Industrial Recreation at State, Gotkin hopes to enter the coaching field after his graduation in three years. Member of Air Force R.O.T.C. unit. Certain of starting assignment this year and could develop into one of the team’s top scorers. Undoubtedly has a great future ahead of him with the Wolfpack. Son of Joseph Gotkin, 678 New Jersey Ave., Brooklyn, N. Y. Twenty years old.
