CNN Worldwide, Known Win 2020 Promax Global Excellence Honors

CNN Worldwide was named Marketing Team of the Year, while Known was named Agency of the Year at the Promax 2020 Global Excellence Awards, held virtually Tuesday at promax.org. Promax's Global Excellence Awards honor the best entertainment marketing from around the world, including show and brand campaigns, idents, motion graphics, animation and more.

Former Warner Bros. marketing executive and former Promax board member Scott Rowe hosted the virtual ceremony. Other presenters included CNN's Rick Lewchuk and The Walt Disney Co. Europe and Africa's Nam Patel.

CNN Worldwide was named Marketing Team of the Year for the sixth straight year, while Known, formerly Stun, last won this award in 2018.

Other winners included BBC America for its dramatic promo campaign for season three of Killing Eve; NFL Media's Gameday "Football Weather" for sports program promotion; EA Sports for motion graphics; HBO 2019 Christmas IDs for animation; DW's Beethoven's Ninth for main titles; Fox Sports Marketing's WWE "We're All Superstars" for sports brand image campaign; and Discovery Creative London's TLC Digital Collection for brand image promo campaign.

Last week, FX Networks was named North America Marketing Team of the Year, while Wieden + Kennedy was named North America Marketing Team of the Year. Microsoft Xbox and gnet agency, recently acquired by Keywords Studios, were named Promax Games Marketing Team of the Year and Games Agency of the Year, respectively.
