HOLY FATHER’S PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR DECEMBER 2018 - EVANGELIZATION: In the Service of the Transmission of Faith That people, who are involved in the service and transmission of faith, may find, in their dialogue with culture, a language suited to the conditions of the present time. [6] DECEMBER 2018: FOCUS OF THE LITURGY - FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT Jer 33:14-16; Ps 25:4-5,8-10,14; 1 Thes 3:12-4:2; Lk 21:25-28, 34-36 Jesus is the “just shoot” promised to David. Today's Gospel exhorts us to look forward to Christ’s Second Coming, confident that our “redemption is near.” THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Gen 3:9-15, 20; Ps 98:1-4; Eph 1:3-6, 11-12; Lk 1:26-38 The Angel’s greeting points to Mary as God’s favored one! Graced from the moment of her conception, she is the sinless mother of His only-begotten Son. SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT Bar 5:1-9; Ps 126:1-6; Phil 1:4-6,8-11; Lk 3:1-6 Each of us is like Israel in her exile: led into captivity by our sinfulness, in need of restoration and conversion. John is seen as preparing the way, not only for a new redemption of Israel, but for the salvation of all humanity. THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT: GAUDETE (REJOICE!) SUNDAY Zeph 3:14-18; Is 12:2-6; Phil 4:4-7; Lk 3:10-18 The people are filled with expectation for the Messiah. This theme of joy resounds: Rejoice! The Lord is near. FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT Mic 5:1-4; Ps 80:2-3,15-16,18-19; Heb 10:5-10; Lk 1:39-45 The Sunday before Christmas, the Church’s Liturgy reveals the true identity of our Redeemer. John recognizes this when he leaps for joy in his mother’s womb. Elizabeth, filled with joy and the Holy Spirit, blesses Mary. CHRISTMAS Is 52:7-10; Ps 98:1, 2-3, 3-4, 5-6; Heb 1:1-6; Jn 1:1-18 And the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. To those who did accept Him and believe in His name, He gave power to become children of God, born not by human choice but of God. THE HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH 1 Sm 1:20-22, 24-28; Ps 83:2-3, 5-6, 9-10; 1 Jn 3:1-2, 21-24; Lk 2:41-52 In the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, God reveals our true home. We are to live as His children, “chosen ones, holy and beloved.” The Temple in the Gospel is God’s house, but it’s also an image of the family of God, the Church. • Compiled from Devout Resources of the Saints' Sites
compiled from devout resources of the Saints' sites. www.saintsprayers.net "That we may pray unceasingly" 1 Thess. 5:17 Herein is contained a compilation of Catholic prayers, quotations, and readings from religious devotional books and the writings of and about the saints. The treasury of wisdom herein is the treasury of Christ Himself for the soul. For these prayers to be of lasting value you must adhere to the one true Church founded by Christ, the Catholic Church and her doctrine as given by Christ while living a life of grace and love God in all your doings, being always aware of your own humble nature. The quotations and readings will be of aid for the mortification of the senses, purgation, understanding of the interior life, repelling of the spiritual enemies of the soul, illumination, and finishing of the spiritual journey to salvation. An example of devotion. Practice the continual remembrance of the Lord. Begin your day with the sign of the cross, invitatory, and morning prayers such as thanksgiving for the night's protection, morning offerings, and the acts of virtue. Examine your conscience and what the day will hold ahead. Pray for these intentions, then pray during the hours of the day, with such as the powerful prayers of the Most Precious Blood for the Holy Souls. Remember the hour of noon, and the hour of three o'clock. Devote every act to Jesus Christ in between the hours. Fast according to your capacity and practice temperance throughout all your acts. At midnight rise and make a devotion.

  • May Magnificat Our Lady and Her People This Little Collection of Words and Pictures Has Been Put Together by Some of the People of Hinksey Catholic Parish
May Magnificat Our Lady and her People This little collection of words and pictures has been put together by some of the people of Hinksey Catholic Parish. It is a sort of spiritual bouquet: a collection of offerings of different sorts, making up a happy whole. It is inspired above all by Our Lady, to whom our parish church of Our Lady of the Rosary is dedicated, and has been since the Marian Year of 1954. May is the month in which we traditionally show Our Lady particular affection—all over the world there are May devotions, Crownings, and all kinds of occasions on which we can show the joy of our faith, a joy which Our Lady not only shares but exemplifies. This May however, in 2020, is not like that. Much of the world has shut up shop, has closed its doors. Here in this country our churches are closed, our sacraments administered only in danger of death. Government officials, religious leaders, ordinary people talk about what could happen and when, and behind all this is the spectre of fear: fear of the virus, fear of death, fear of passing sickness on to others, fear of the unknown. In times like this, we can either turn inward, trying to find strength and answers within ourselves, which in the end will never be enough; or we can turn outward: to our friends, families, communities; to the parish, to the Church; to the help of the saints, and above all, of Our Lady. Our connectedness can be helped by our seeing one another on our doorsteps or chatting over the garden fence, or talking on the phone.

THE VIRGIN MARY THE OUR VIRGIN MOTHER MARY OUR MOTHER Pastoral Letter 2016-‐2017 To all the Catholics of the Pastoral Letter 2016-‐2017 Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia To all the Catholics of the Bishop Camillo Ballin, mccj Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia Bishop Camillo Ballin, mccj Sacred Heart Church 137395.indd 1 8/3/16 2:01 PM Sacred Heart Church 137395.indd 2 8/3/16 2:01 PM Introduction Dear brothers, sisters, and fellow priests, The Peace of Jesus Christ be with you all. In 2017 the Church will celebrate theth 100 anniversary of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to the three shepherd children of Fatima: Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, recognized by the Holy See in 1935. I felt that this anniversary could be an occasion for us to meditate on the Virgin Mary, as Mother of the Church and as our Mother. Therefore, my intention in this letter is not solely to speak on the message of Fatima but to reflect on the role of the Virgin Mary in the Church and in our life. This letter will have three chapters: 1. The Doctrine of the Catholic Church on the Virgin Mary,2. The Virgin Mary in the Liturgy, 3. The Rosary. In Tuy (Spain) on June 13th 1929, the Virgin Mary asked Lucy for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart. On the 31st of October 1942, Pope Pius XII consecrated mankind to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and on March 25th 1984, Saint John Paul II, in communion with all the Bishops of the Church, renewed the consecration of mankind and of Russia before the 1 Sacred Heart Church 137395.indd 3 8/3/16 2:01 PM statue of the Virgin of Fatima in St.

  • S Mary Goddess,Counterfeit Christianity
Blasphemous Titles Of Rome’s Imaginary Mary Goddess The following list of aggrandizing titles bestowed upon the Catholic Mary confirms just how far the Church of Rome has gone to elevate their false version of Mary to goddess status. It appears as if they have exceeded the idolatry of ALL pagan goddess worshippers combined. As you can see from the list below, Rome has borrowed attributes from many pagan goddesses in the titles “Our Lady Of”, “Mother Of” and “Virgin Of”. The Catholic Church has also searched the Bible far and wide in order to misapply attributes to Mary that she never had or that belonged to some other biblical person, in an effort to create their deified version of Mary. The true biblical Mary who gave birth to the Lord Jesus Christ – and who did not remain a virgin – would be shocked and revolted by the glorification of herself by Catholics, that so far overshadows the attention and glory given by Catholics to Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.
