4 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND RULES 1. Entries close on Friday, 1st. July and must be accompanied by correct entry fee. 2. All entries are made to and accepted by the Bannow & Rathangan Show Society Company Limited. 3. Cheques, Postal Orders and all monies payable to Bannow & Rathangan Show Society. 4. All Exhibits to be presented by 10.00 a.m. Ring 6 by 9.30 a.m. - Horse Jumping Entries (see Schedule) 5. Rosettes, Cards and Badges of other Shows not allowed on any exhibit. 6. No second prize for less than three entries and no third prize for less than five entries, no fourth prize for less than seven entries in any class. No prizes for one entry. 7. All horses shown in Riding Classes shall not be shown in hand except in the case of special prizes. 8. Neither the Company, Committee or Landowners will be responsible for any loss, accident or damage to any exhibit while at the show or in transit to or therefore. All entries are accepted at Owners risk. No claim for compensation arising out of the Show will be entertained, neither will liability be accepted for any accident to any exhibitor, his or her servants or to any spectator present. 9. The Show Committee reserve the right to abandon or postpone the Show or can- cel or alter any class. 10. No animal is eligible for entry in more than one Class except in the case of spe- cial prizes. 11. Exhibitors must satisfy themselves that their exhibits are in correct classes and bear correct number before judging commences. 12. All dogs must be on leads. 13. The decision of the Judges shall be final, and the instructions of stewards and officials must be obeyed at all times. 14. In the event of an appointed Judge not being available on day of show the com- mittee reserves the right to appoint a Judge. 15. All Cups are Perpetual. The winner of any Cup shall be responsible to the Secretary for its safe custody and for production and delivery to the Society in the same condition in which it was received not later than 1st July, 2017. 16. All objections must be lodged with the Secretary within thirty minutes of the con- clusion of the class or event concerned. No objection shall be accepted or consid- ered by the Committee unless lodged before said time. Each objection shall be accompanied by a fee of €30 which will be retained if objection is over-ruled. 17. Each Exhibitor or their agent shall be prepared to certify all statements in his or her Entry Form in any manner the Committee may require. 18. Prize winners may at the discretion of the Judges and/or the Committee be required to subject their animals to a Veterinary examination.

5 19. All foals must be adequately haltered and led, the Committee reserve the absolute right to have any foal removed from the Show Grounds and to forfeit their entry fee if not properly led and haltered. 20. All entries made by telephone must be followed by correct entry fee. 21. A 'Pass' covers free entry to the show for one person only. 22. 5% on all prize winners in horse, pony, cattle and sheep classes will be deducted from prize winners and forwarded to the I.S.A. 23. Prize money for the Home Industry and Dogs will be paid out on Show Day and will have to be signed for. 24. Ages of Animals to be correctly stated on entry forms. 25. Cattle and Horses must be provided with sufficient halters and caretakers must be in attendance at all times during the day. 26. All animals to remain on Show Field until after 4 p.m. 27. All accidents/incidents to be reported to the Secretary. 28. Any animal out of box must be attended to. 29. Only one nomination to be won per Brood Mare, Horse/Pony in any one year, to be taken up by winning mare only and are non transferrable. 30. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be on time for the judging of their class. 31. Prizes will be paid out on Show Day. 32. All exhibitors and persons admitted to the show and each entry shall be subject to the Rules, Orders and Regulations of the Society. 33. All riders should wear appropriate head gear, which complies with up to date Safety Standards. 34. Officers and Stewards of Bannow & Rathangan Show Society reserve the right to remove any animal that is considered a Health & Safety risk. 35. Exhibitors shall accept absolute responsibility in respect of the control and behaviour of their animals at the Show and shall provide halters for animals where appropriate. Exhibitors shall be solely responsible for all legal liability arising as a result of any injury or damage caused by any animal under their con- trol to their property or the property of others at The Show. 36 No person will be admitted to solicit money for the sale of tickets or otherwise in the Grounds of the Society, except from a stall, with the prior permission of the Committee. 37. Intending exhibitors are advised to ensure that their Public Liability Insurance covers the exhibition of their Bloodstock/Livestock/any animal at Public Shows.

The I.S.A. are proud to present the following Championships and wishes to acknowl- edge the generous sponsorships which make these competitions possible. For the effi- cient running of the Championships all concerned are requested to read and observe the Rules set out below. General Rules for ISA Championships 2016 A. ELIGIBILITY OF SHOWS Shows wishing to participate in the 2016 Championships and be eligible to hold qualifiers, must have collected the Championship Fund Levy (currently 5%) from Horse, Pony, Cattle and Sheep Class Prize money for the year 2015 and forwarded the amount so collected, in full, to the Irish Shows Association Head Office with- in the stipulated period of not more than 30 days from the date of their show. Alternative methods of meeting this obligation are not acceptable. Any show or competitor in breach of the rules set out below will be disqualified from participating or competing in these championships. These General Rules and those relating to individual championships (where applicable) should be published in the show schedule and catalogue of the par- ticipating shows and must be strictly observed.

B. QUALIFYING ROUNDS (QUALIFIERS) Qualifying rounds will take place at eligible shows selected by the Irish Shows Association. C. RESPONSIBILITY OF SHOWS HOLDING QUALIFYING ROUNDS a. Selected Shows should hold a separate class for each qualifier from which the high- est placed animals will qualify. b. The Qualifier class, if possible, should be held as the first (1st) class in the rele- vant section of the show. c. Shows must ensure that the qualifiers are held strictly in accordance with the rele- vant rules. d. No other sponsor may be involved in qualifying classes. e. Shows may charge an entry fee for each qualifying class. The I.S.A. will award a rosette to the successful qualifiers on appearance at the final. f. A Show hosting a Championship Final may not hold a qualifier for that Championship on the day of the final other than by agreement with the Irish Shows Association, however, Shows who hold Qualifiers for Horses, Ponies and Cattle may ask Exhibitors to enter the exhibit in at least one other Class at their Show on the day”. 7 g.Animals qualified for finals are not eligible to enter in any other class at the show where the final is held other than a Qualifying Class for another competition. h. Shows should appoint competent, well briefed persons to act as Stewards, who must ensure that only animals (or other exhibits) which are eligible to compete and those whose documentation is in order are allowed to proceed to the judging ring. i. Animal Passports & Micro Chips where applicable, should be read by a Veterinary Surgeon appointed by the show. j. On completion of judging, Stewards should instruct the successful competitors to attend at the Show Secretary's Office within one hour and to complete the neces- sary documentation for entry to the championship final. k. The show should appoint a well-briefed officer, who will be in attendance at the Secretary's Office and who will assist exhibitors to complete the necessary docu- mentation for participation in the final and to collect the relevant entrance fee. l. Show Secretaries must forward complete result cards, together with appropri- ate fees to the Irish Shows Association within three (3) days following the hold- ing of the show. N.B. Shows must return results card marked “No Competition” for any or all events for which no animal (or exhibit) has been selected.

D. RESPONSIBILITY OF EXHIBITORS a. Exhibitors accept that the Judges decision is final in all cases. Any abuse of judges will not be tolerated. Where a dispute or case for complaint arises, the mat- ter should only be dealt with under f. below. b. Winners of Qualifiers are themselves responsible for entering their animals (or exhibits) for the final in accordance with j. and k. above, within one hour of qualifying. c. Winners of qualifiers will compete in the final. d. The Irish Shows Association in conjunction with the sponsor reserve the right to alter or amend the rules of any competition as may be necessary or appropriate. e. Shows and competitors must contact the National Irish Shows Office for details of any championship and not the sponsor involved. f. Objections must be lodged in writing with the Show Secretary first, then I.S.A. representative at the show within half an hour following the completion of judging, together with a fee of €50, or other stated fee, which is refundable in the event of the objection being upheld. g. Any Exhibitor who makes a false declaration or misrepresents a fact regarding themselves or their exhibit are liable to disqualification and/or forfeiture of any prizes awarded.

E. RESPONSIBILITIES OF SHOWS HOSTING CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS a. A deduction of 5% of the prize money is to be collected by the Show and forward- ed to the Irish Shows Association within 30 days of the final. b. Championship finals should start not later than 2 p.m. on the day of the show and the advertised time of starting should be adhered to as far as practicable. If necessary, other show classes shoud be either postponed or relocated to allow for this.

8 NOTICES OF INTEREST TO CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANTS IRISH LAW (EU DIRECTIVE) Under Irish Law all horses moving from one location to another must be accom- panied by their passports. It is in your own interest to ensure this is the case. Failure to do so is an offence under Irish Law and is liable on summary conviction to result in a fine up to €3,000. All passports must be registered with the name of the current owner.

•Embryo Transfer: Where a foal is produced by this method the dams passport must bear a declaration dated, stamped and signed by the stallion owner (or accred- ited practitioner where AI is involved) stating the date on which the dam was last covered (or inseminated) and the name of the covering stallion. • The owners of Champions and Reserve Champions, if they so wish, are invited to submit the animals’ passports to the I.S.A. head office where the placing will be endorsed and officially stamped with the seal of the Irish Shows Association as a permanent record.

Community Tourism Diaspora Initiative The Bannow & Rathangan Show is delighted to be associated with this initiative for 2016. The key objective of the Fund is to provide support to local and community event organisers and other activities/projects that will harness Diaspora links for the ben- efit of local and community tourism. The Fund is being administered by Wexford County Council.

Fund amounts will be for a minimum of €500 & a maximum of €3,000 and will be directly related to the number of overseas visitors that will be delivered. Overseas visitors are those who travel from outside of the island of Ireland.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS - CATTLE Keepers wishing to show cattle in 2016 must obtain a Certificate of Compliance prior to the movement of the animal to the Show. This ensures that the animal(s) in question has the necessary TB, BR and BVD test recorded on the Department’s database and that the keeper presenting the animal is not restricted by the Department. Certificates of Compliance can be obtained online from the Animal Identification and Movement (AIM) system through the www.agfood.ie facility or from the Cattle Movement Notificaton Agency. When applying for a Certificate of Compliance, keepers should not specify a destination. On the day of the Show, the certificate of compliance should be presented to the Show Secretary along with the Bovine Passport for the animal. 26 The keeper will then sign the Movement Notification section of the Certificate which will then be sent to the local DVO for recording onto the AIM system. Please note that only cattle for which a valid Certificate of Compliance is provid- ed to the Show Secretary can be shown on the day of Show.
