Resumption of session The sitting opened at 17.05. 2. Tribute On behalf of Parliament, the President paid tribute to the memory of Phillip Whitehead MEP, who had died on 31.12.2005. Parliament observed a minute's silence. Under Rule 4(1) and (7) Parliament established the vacancy with effect from 01.01.2006 and notified the Member State concerned thereof. 3. Approval of Minutes of previous sitting The Minutes of the previous sitting were approved. 4.
