Santidade. Juventude ABSTRACT This thesis fits into perspective already initiated by some authors on the actual examination of the saints and beatified Catholics and how these are used as examples to talk about the new prospects or updates models of holiness proposed by the Vatican. Among these perspectives, we will prioritize that which deals with the beatification and canonization of young people. Thus, we have as a central object of study to analyze the beatification of an Italian girl named Chiara Luce. The idea of examining his beatification came when on fieldwork with members of the Focolares Movement, her name was always remembered as an example that holiness is possible not only for the young . In deepening interest in Chiara Luce, we found various information about her biography through books, numerous websites and social networks. These biographies depart from different contexts about the sanctity of Chiara. For some, Chiara had a normal life and began to show signs of holiness when she knew she had a rare cancer. For other biographers, the sanctity of Chiara began to present itself in her infancy. Taking Chiara as a starting point, this thesis also makes a historic gathering on the regulation of holiness through time , that it‘s , from the most spontaneous way, crossing the threshold of their routinization and bureaucratization with the creation of the Congregation of Rites in 1588 by Pope Sixtus V (1585-1590) still focusing on the changes of the Code of Canon Law of 1917 , with Vatican II , until the current standards coming from the papacy of John Paul II ( 1978-2005 ) and were updated by Benedict XVI (2005-2012). With the changes produced by John Paul II as regards the rules for the beatification and canonization, which are followed by Benedict XVI , exponentially growing number of saints and there is as it were a greater diversity of candidates, both geographically and in different states of life that are analyzed by us in a separate chapter. Among these changes are the increasing number of young saints and beatified, whether martyrs or confessors, and there a systematic effort on the part of these two popes in juvenile sanctification which is discussed in another chapter. Finally, among many young people, we chose Chiara Luce to examine in a more systematic way her constructed holiness, still trying to analyze the new models and/or updates of holiness proposed by the Vatican

He made his First Communion on November 14, 1886. Went to school in Romano Lombardia, Italy in 1889. Mose began to feel a call to the priesthood, but his father opposed it, and he put off the training. Attended high school in Celana, Bergamo, Italy, but had trouble with city life, and was abused by his fellow students. He returned home, and this time his father agreed with Mose's call to the priesthood. The boy moved back in with his uncle Giuseppe, and studied at the seminary in Brescia. Upon finishing the minor seminary, during which his uncle had died, Mose took off from school and joined the army. His personal piety even impressed his fellow soldiers. He reached the rank of sergeant, was discharged on October 31, 1898, returned home, and resumed his studies for the priesthood. Ordained in Brescia on June 9, 1900 at age 22. Assigned as chaplain of Astrio, Italy. He was soon sent to Rome, Italy to continue his studies, and by 1904 had degrees in mathematics, philosophy, and theology.

  • ECHO of MARY Queen of Peace 142
ECHO ECHO OF MARY Queen of peace 142 November-December 1998 - Info Our Lady's message of 25 Sept. 1998: Dear Children, I invite you today to become my witnesses by living the faith of your fathers. My Children, you seek signs and messages and do not see that God, with the rising of the sun each morning, calls you to convert and to return to the path of truth and salvation. You talk much, my Children, but you work little for your conversion. Therefore, convert and begin to live my messages; not with words, but with your lives. Then my Children, you will have the strength to decide for true conversion of the heart. Thank you for responding to my call. Be my Witnesses, and work at Conversion of Heart Our Lady once again speaks of living the faith, and of conversion of heart. Her plea to live the messages is mixed with a reproach for the way we talk too much of and live too little our faith. The message contains an unusual call to become Her witnesses of the faith. The way to do this is to live the faith of our fathers. Faith is accepting with all one's heart and life those promises of the invisible God Who revealed Himself in the person of Jesus Christ. Mary lived in the faith of the fathers, making it Her own. Let us look at Abraham's faith. He had no doubts when he offered in sacrifice his son of the promise, thinking that God is able to raise man even from the dead (cf.

  • Michaela Sohn-Kronthaler Hildegard Burjan (1883-1933)

  • The Holy See
The Holy See BENEDICT XVI ANGELUS Saint Peter's Square Sunday, 13 June 2010 (Video) Dear Brothers and Sisters, The Year for Priests came to an end a few days ago. Here in Rome we lived unforgettable days, with the presence of more than 15,000 priests from across the world. Therefore, today I would like to thank God for all the benefits that this Year has brought to the universal Church. No one will ever be able to measure them but they can certainly be seen and their fruits will be even easier to see. The Year for Priests ended on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, which is traditionally the "day of priestly sanctification"; and it was so this time in a quite special way. In fact, dear friends, the priest is a gift of the Heart of Christ: a gift for the Church and for the world. From the Heart of the Son of God, brimming with love, flow all the goods of the Church. In particular, originates in it the vocation of those men who, won over by the Lord Jesus, leave all things to devote themselves without reserve to the service of the Christian people, after the example of the Good Shepherd. The priest is moulded by the charity of Christ himself, that love which impelled him to lay down his life for his friends and also to forgive his enemies. For this reason all priests are first and foremost workers of the civilization of love. And here I am thinking of so many priests, known and less known figures, some of whom have been raised to the honour of the altars, others whose memory lives on indelibly in the faithful, even in a small parish community, as happened at Ars, the French village where St John Mary Vianney exercised his ministry.

  • Becoming Everyday Saints with Archbishop Fulton Sheen
Becoming everyday saints with Archbishop Fulton Sheen Growing up in northern Illinois, the name of Archbishop Fulton Sheen was a popular one in the Catholic community. Everyone seemed to have a story about the archbishop or have a cousin or grandparent who was distantly related to him. During my college years, the devotion to the beloved future saint was even more apparent through the many people I met from the Diocese of Peoria, Illinois, where Fulton Sheen grew up and was ordained a priest. I first encountered the archbishop during a high school Steubenville conference, when I bought his book on St. Thérèse, around the time that Pope Benedict XVI declared him venerable. At the time, I only knew about him because of the developments in his cause for canonization, but this book, “Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s St. Thérèse — A Treasured Love Story,” both changed my relationship with my favorite saint while introducing me to another. The book contains 11 sermons that Archbishop Sheen preached in 1973 leading up the 100th anniversary of St. Thérèse’s birth, and, as the introduction of the book explains, “Not only does it reveal the essential Thérèse, it also reveals the essential Fulton Sheen.” With the news of his upcoming beatification and the recently approved miracle regarding the health of a boy from the Peoria diocese, I decided it was time to return to this book and rediscover why it touched me so deeply. It didn’t take long for me to recall how relevant Sheen’s words are for our current world — especially with the disheartening revelations within the Church in the last year and the push to empower the laity.

Post. 135 67100 L'Aquila (Italy) www.armatabianca.org [email protected] Translation of the Ecclesiastical Permission on the opposite page: Diocese of Ibarra According to can. 827 par. 3, the Reverend Father Andrea D'Ascanio ofm cap has submitted to my examination the book he has written “The apostles of the last times in Montfort and today”. After carefully examining the content of this work, which was supervised by Prof. Stefano De Fiores, I do not find in it anything contrary to the faith and morals of the Catholic Church. Moreover, I believe this work can help to effectively spread the devotion to the Most Blessed Virgin according to the writings of St. Louis Mary Grignion de Montfort and give a positive contribution on controversial topics of Mariology and eschatol- ogy concerning which there is often confusion among the faithful. Regarding the above, I grant permission to publish this book.
