[email protected] Abstract The aim of this research is to investigate the urban politics in Indonesia (the role in revitalizing Kampong Dolly, in Surabaya, Indonesia). This study is based on in-depth interviews with the Government (Mayor and DPRD or Assembly at Regional and Mayor) Board. The qualitative descriptive method is used to analyze and describe the Government role in initiating the revitalization program. The results of this research are as follows: First, Surabaya government to curb prostitution in Dolly. Second, Surabaya government to fulfill the vision and mission of the provincial government of East Java. This study shows that civil society plays a key role in ensuring regional autonomy; it does so, inter alia, by mobilizing support for governmental programs. In the field of urban political studies, cities are regarded as areas in which social services and welfare are most effectively administered despite competing interests. Surabaya government to implement the Dolly Village Revitalization program. The program was implemented under the leadership of the Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini.
