Desde que le hicieron llegar la invitación para que dejara inaugurado el Country Club de Kitzbürgel —la más importante zona turística de la nación nórdica—, el notable pianista supo que cumpliría uno de sus sueños: llegarse hasta la casa de uno de los genios más grandes de todos los tiempos: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. «No te voy a negar que como estaba enterado de que Kitzbürgel se hallaba muy cerca de la ciudad donde nació Mozart, desde el primer momento me propuse moverme hasta allí. A los tres días de estar en Austria fui a Salzburgo, donde me recibió Johannes Brahms, presidente del Mozarteum de Salzburgo y de la Fundación Mozart, quien mantiene sólidos contactos con Cuba, a través del Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana, pero que no me conocía personalmente, aunque sí mi obra. «Para mí fue un privilegio que Brahms me enseñara la casa de Mozart, que conserva exactamente igual los lugares originales, aunque ha sido ampliada, pues allí se guardan los manuscritos de ese músico extraordinario. -

Los conciertos y recitales se sucederán cada semana de jueves a domin- go, como sugestiva propuesta para las tardes habaneras. Las veinte se- siones serán protagonizadas por 26 intérpretes de altísima calidad, entre consagrados y noveles, todos ellos con la misma motivación por la música, con el mismo deseo de exaltar el arte de lo bello. Una vez más, la Orques- ta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba acompañará los conciertos para piano que serán interpretados cada jueves y domingo en el Teatro Martí bajo la batuta de su director titular, el maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa, quien compar- tirá el podio con los talentosos y jóvenes directores Daiana García y José Antonio Méndez Padrón. También conducida por Méndez, la Orquesta Sin- fónica de la Universidad de las Artes (ISA), adjunta al Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana, tendrá reservada una actuación dedicada a repertorios más añejos. Armenia, Belarús, China, Corea del Sur, Egipto, Estados Unidos y Rusia serán los países de donde provengan los diecisiete intérpretes foráneos, todos alumnos de Mikowsky en la Manhattan School of Music de New York, en su mayoría multilaureados internacionalmente y protagonistas de exitosas carreras desde su más temprana juventud. A ellos se suman los nueve re- presentantes cubanos, también de excelente nivel e igualmente acreedo- res de premios, dentro y fuera de nuestras costas. Sus carreras han sido fruto de la vocación magisterial de la escuela de piano cubana en la que destacan profesores como Teresita Junco, Alicia Perea, Frank Fernández, Ulises Hernández, Mercedes Estévez, Hortensia Upmann, María Teresa Pita, Andrés Alén, Miriam Cruz, Rosalía Capote, Dánae Ulacia, Miriam Valdés, An- drea Mesa, Ernán López-Nussa, Liana Fernández, Patricio Malcolm y Aldo López-Gavilán, entre otros. -
Oxana Yablonskaya
Oxana Yablonskaya Oxana Yablonskaya’s charismatic piano playing and profound interpretations have brought her acclaim for over thirty years. Known for her powerhouse virtuosity, exquisite sensitivity, and deep emotional drive, Ms. Yablonskaya has enchanted audiences worldwide. Oxana Yablonskaya was born in Moscow. As an adolescent, she attended The Moscow Central School for the gifted children under the tutelage of great Anaida Sumbatyan, with whom she worked with until the age of 16. She later studied at the Conservatory of Moscow with the legendary Aleksandre Goldenweiser. At 22, she began a professional relationship with Tatiana Nikolayeva in the Doctorate Program, later acting as her assistant at the Moscow Conservatory. Following graduation with high honors, she was introduced to the Western World in Paris at the Jacques Long-Thibaud Competition in 1963, the Rio de Janeiro Competition in 1965, and the Vienna Beethoven Competition in 1969. She won top prizes in all three competitions, and received numerous invitations for return engagements, but because of the Cold War, was not allowed to do so. While still in the USSR, Ms. Yablonskaya performed Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto #1 with the Moscow Philharmonic under conductor Yury Simonov at the Composers Jubilee Concert in the Kremlin. She was the first performer to play Rodion Shchedrin’s “Basso Ostinato,” which became her signature piece. Her status as a consummate professional was heightened by many prominent Soviet and foreign composers dedicating their music to her. Despite the reputation she had earned within the Soviet Union and being a prize winner of three international competitions, she was never permitted to play outside the Eastern Bloc. -

He studied clarinet at the Kazan Music School, Kazan Music College and the Kazan Conservatory. He was appointed as associate clarinetist of the Tatarstan's Opera and Ballet Theatre, and of the Kazan State Symphony Orchestra. He toured extensively in Europe, then went to Canada where he settled permanently in 1998. He completed his musical education at the University of Montreal where he studied with Andre Moisan. He works as a conductor and Klezmer clarinetist and has composed a sizeable body of music. He has written a number of concertante works including Concerto for Viola and Orchestra No1, Op.7 (2004), Concerto for Viola and String Orchestra with Harpsicord No. 2, Op.41 “in Baroque style” (2015), Concerto for Oboe and Strings with Percussions, Op.6 (2004), Concerto for Cello and String Orchestra with Percussion, Op.18 (2009) and Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, Op 40 (2014). He has composed prolifically in most genres including opera, orchestral, chamber and vocal works. th 29 EECERA ANNUAL CONFERENCE Early Years: Making it Count Thessaloniki, Greece th rd 20 – 23 August 2019 CONFERENCE PROGRAMME 1 EECERA is an independent, self-governing, international association which promotes and disseminates multi-disciplinary research on early childhood and its applications to policy and practice. It has a substantial and influential worldwide membership. The Association continues in the tradition of European early childhood thought, sustaining the legacy of Pestalozzi, Owen, Froebel, Montessori, Steiner, Vygotsky, Piaget, Malaguzzi and other pioneers, whilst looking forward to encourage the exploration of new methodologies, concepts and applications. EECERA’s Annual Conference is the largest early childhood research conference in Europe, providing an exceptional forum and network for scholars, policy makers, researchers and practitioners. EECERA also encourages and supports cross-national collaborations and themed publications through its Special Interest Groups (SIGs). The Journal of the Association (EECERJ) is the only European early childhood journal cited in the prestigious Social Science Citation Index (SSCI).
