Just to complete her musical activities, as well as Beethoven, Alex busies herself with Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado. A band that turns up at a dance is also given a decent set of close-ups, and the singer a tail credit: Lyrics: After winning the race, and getting her lover's medal from her coach, Alex goes for a swim in the sinking sun lit golden ocean. She swims off into the distance, accompanied by ethereal choral music and voice over. Alex: "I've always known that in another life I was, or will be, a dolphin. I leap over and through the waves, free and triumphant." The image fades down on Alex swimming in golden hues to black, and after a fair amount of black, tail credits begin to roll. A song starts up: One way I had a dream That I met someone new That I never dreamed that I'd meet someone like you Sometimes ...we're drawn together now And I'll never let you go I wouldn't know how ... For the rest of my life (chorus, with echo of last word) I'll be with you (chorus, with echo of last word) When the sun shines hard (chorus, with echo of word) It'll be cool … A new rocking song then begins, this one sung by Alex's lover in the film, Josh Picker. It's a reprise of a song heard earlier in the film with a different singer (see credits above): Well I saw my baby walking (walking, last word then repeated in next lines) With another man today Well I saw my baby walking, yeah With another man today When I asked her what's the matter I thought her say See you later alligator (with chorus and part repeat of line) In a while crocodile (with chorus, which intros line the singer then repeats) See you later alligator (alligator) In a while crocodile (with chorus, which intros line the singer then repeats) Can't you see you're in the way now? Yeh, yeah, yeah Oh sure you cramp my style When I thought of what she told me It nearly made me lose my head When I thought of what she told me, yeah … It nearly made me lose my head, yeah … The very next time I saw her, yeah, yeeah … Reminded me of what she said... (Musical interlude) See you later alligator (Chorus) See you later alligator In a while crocodile (Chorus) In a while crocodile I'll see you later alligator Yeah, yeah, in a while crocodile … (Chorus) In a while, crocodile I said, see you're in the way now … yeah, yeah … (At this point the end crawler finishes and the music continues for some time over black) Yeah, well, you know you cramp my style (Guitar-driven instrumental) See you later alligator (Chorus) See you later alligator Well in a while crocodile In a while crocodile … See you later alligator ... (The DVD version fades down on the last few lines, with the last line very distant) CD: A CD of the soundtrack was released but is now rare. Hunter has a relatively detailed wiki here. Hunter also did extensive composing for the TV series Heartbreak High in the 1980s, and did the score for features such as Daydream Believer, aka The Girl Who Came Late, and the rarely seen Zombie Brigade, shot in Western Australian. Alex, aka Alex The Spirit of a Champion (with partner Johanna Pigott) took him back to his original turf. (Below: Todd Hunter) .
