Tail Credits:

With You, a song written by Johanna Pigott/Todd Hunter/Sam Brown, and performed by Brown, runs over the film’s tail credits. Lyrics for the song:

I know time will give me no excuse And only I can see it through But if I try and try I know that I will buy Another life, this time with you … With you…

(short guitar solo interlude) I’m like a bird that’s lost its wings (chorus: like a bird) I can’t sink and I can’t swim But even though those wise words have gone I found the courage in my bones

And I know time will give me no excuse And only I can see it through But if I try and try I know that I will buy Another life, this time with you Oooh with you … Oooh with you With youuuu …

I know time will give me no excuse And only I can see it through But if I try and try I know that I will buy Another life, this time with you

I know time will give me no excuse And only I can see it through But if I try and try I know that I will buy Another life, this time with you

(song then carries on over black after end credits finish) With youuu …

(chorus: like a bird that’s lost its wings I can’t sink and I can’t swim …) (song fades out)

It’s likely that the creative team held out hopes for the chart potential of this song, with Sam Brown doing the singing, but it didn’t catch on, possibly not helped by the film’s failure at the box office. Brown is too well known to detail at length here - she has a wiki listing here, and there is an extensive August 2015 interview with her here. The Beyond press kit notes that the creation of the song involved long distance phone calls and exchanges of tapes.

Head Credits:

Daydream Believer runs over the head credits. This Monkees’ song has its own wiki here.

Lyrics as heard in the film (not the full song, but an edited version):

Oh, I could hide 'neath the wings Of the bluebird as she sings. The shavin' razor's cold and it stings.

Cheer up, Sleepy Jean. Oh, what can it mean. To a daydream believer And a homecoming queen.

You once thought of me As a white knight on his steed. Now you know how happy I can be. Oh, and our good time starts and ends Without dollar one to spend. But how much, baby, do we really need?

Cheer up, Sleepy Jean. Oh, what can it mean To a… (the song fades out at this point, and action begins - remaining lyrics can be found in many places on the internet, along with a few lines excised from the opening lyrics) Soundtrack Album:

The soundtrack was released on CD, but it didn’t sell and original copies are now rare.

Todd Hunter:

Todd Hunter, another musician originally from , is best known for his work with the pop band Dragon.

Hunter has a relatively detailed wiki here. Hunter also did extensive composing for the TV series in the 1980s, and did the score for features such as Daydream Believer, aka The Girl Who Came Late, and Alex, aka Alex The Spirit of a Champion (with partner Johanna Pigott).

(Below: Todd Hunter) Johanna Pigott:

Pigott is Todd Hunter’s partner in life and musical activities, as singer and , and was active in the band Dragon, as well as doing scriptwriting and composing for film and television.

She has a relatively detailed wiki here. Her scriptwriting is perhaps best notable for creating, with Tim Gooding, the cult ABC music-orientated series Sweet and Sour.
