VICTORIA ISLAND Pitch Deck VICTORIA ISLAND Pitch deck An arrogant fashion executive is given reality check when she reluctantly goes on a working trip to Africa. “You don’t chose love, it chooses you.” Synopsis Elizabeth James likes the finer things in life. She lives in a plush apartment in Mayfair, London with her rich boyfriend, works for a multi-national clothing company in central London and parties at the best places in town. Her life is perfect. That is… until her boss asks her to oversee the opening of a new store in Nigeria at which point her life is turned upside down. On arriving in Lagos, Elizabeth is met by her driver, the cheery, laid back Sunday Johnson who is keen to introduce her to all the goings-on in Lagos. Although she initially takes an extreme disliking to Sunday, the more time she spends with him, the more she realises that there might just be more to life than material things after all. Palmer has also had numerous television roles including the lead role in Nickelodeon sitcom True Jackson, VP Gideon Okeke - Attached Fondly referred to as Nigeria’s newest quintessential and bankable leading man, Gideon is a Nigerian actor, model and TV presenter. Gideon first came into the lime light in 2006 when he appeared as a contestant in Nigeria’s Big brother. He then went on to star in Mnet’s Africa’s day soap opera Tinsel where he’s appeared in 55 episodes. Gideon has starred in international films like ‘Relentless’ 2010 ‘A Place in the Stars’ 2011 and recently, ‘93 days’ starring Danny Glover. With a few projects lined up, Gideon is ready to take on Hollywood. Brian White - Attached Brian is an American actor from Boston Massachusetts. He began acting in a number of television series such as Moesha, The Parkers, Spyder Games, Second Time Around, and The Shield before moving into film roles, appearing in The Family Stone, Brick, Stomp the Yard and the The Game Plan. Zainab Balogun– Proposed British Nigerian Model, TV personality, actress. Zainab started modelling at the age of 16 when she was scouted by Premier Models in London. She’s appeared in international campaigns for brands such as Remi Martin and MTN. Zainab’s acting career started as an extra in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises. She went on to appear in shows such as BBC’s Material Girl, Bollywood the Movie and Cocktail.     ABOUT THE CAST This next year is set to be a very exciting one for CHIWETEL EJIOFOR (Solomon Northup) . Well versed on stage, television and film, Ejiofor will be seen this July in Joe Wright’s production for The Young Vic, A Season in the Congo about the rise and fall of legendary leader Patrice Lumumba. Ejiofor recently finished filming HALF OF A YELLOW SUN based on the highly acclaimed novel of the same title. Both moving and horrifying, the drama concentrates on the varying effects the Biafran War has on the lives of four people; the film also stars Thandie Newton and Joseph Mawle. Ejiofor has also just been announced to star in Z FOR ZACHARIAH alongside Chris Pine and Amanda Seyfried. The film which is about a nuclear war in a small American town is to be directed by Craig Zobel (COMPLIANCE) and will begin shooting in the autumn. Earlier this year, Ejiofor received great reviews for his starring turn in “Dancing on the Edge,” Stephen Poliakoff’s series for the BBC co-starring Matthew Goode. In 2011 television audiences saw him in the award winning “The Shadow Line,” a thrilling drama for the BBC in which he played lead character ‘Jonah Gabriel’ alongside a superb cast including Christopher Eccleston, Lesley Sharp and Rafe Spall. Ejiofor has also appeared in a number of films including SALT , alongside Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber and in 2009 he starred in Roland Emmerich’s action feature, 2012 opposite John Cusack, Danny Glover and Thandie Newton.     CORIN HARDY BIOGRAPHY Corin Hardy, Director Corin Hardy is an award- winning filmmaker, whose live action and animated work mixes the macabre, the beautiful and the epic to visually dazzling results. His early career as a special fx monster-maker began in his bedroom and bike-shed, aged 12; he made a number of animations and super 8 films with school-friends who regularly stood in for his cast of zombies, werewolves and slasher victims. Throughout his teenage years Corin gained valuable film set experience in art and costume departments on a variety of film, tv & theatre productions including The Royal National Ballet’s ‘Dracula’ and Columbia Pictures ‘First Knight’. A keen sculptor, illustrator & film-maker obsessed by a mixture of 1970’s storybooks, horror films and & 80’s ‘Spielberg era’ cinema. Corin studied Special Effects at Wimbledon School of Art before making his award- winning stop-motion short film Butterfly in 2003. This led into directing music videos, beginning with Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and ‘Bedshaped’ and continuing with films for a mix of mainstream acts including The Prodigy, Biffy Clyro, Olly Murs, Paolo Nutini and The Rizzle Kicks as well as underground indies The Horrors, Dry The River, The Horrible Crowes – and the 9 minute crime epic for Devlin and Ed Sheeran’s Watchtower, all produced with Academy Films. His music videos have accrued over 150 million views and won numerous awards around the world. Corin was selected as a ‘Star Of Tomorrow’ in 2011 by Screen International.
