Three people have GayAnn Smith encountered Christ in our community and are seeking to join us Servers Jeralyn Murphy as disciples of Jesus. For months or years these people have been Victoria Havlik getting to know us, attending Mass once in a while, talking with Ushers Jim and Donna Kluz Catholics, watching the way we live as disciples, and they have Mark Pensis come to the point in their lives where they want to enter more Joel Erdmann deeply into our way of life through prayer, service, and sharing. Being a Catholic in the world today is not easy. Besides the Sunday, February 24 10:30 pm –St. Mary’s normal challenges of living as a follower of Jesus, the ongoing Lector Mary Behnke scandals in the church means that if you are a Catholic you are Eucharistic Ministers Tom King susceptible to rejection and persecution. Lorraine Bricco Servers Klayton Kamba But these people celebrating the Rite of Welcome know that is Sierra Knapp not the full story of discipleship. They recognize what we often Ushers Ken Rohan forget; that God is with us in the midst of struggle. The world Larry Rohan cannot provide the joy that following Jesus does. Its shallow Steve Rohan promises lead to fleeting distraction but only in Jesus is true joy Children’s Liturgist Kelly Schreiber to be found. Assistant Liturgist Abbey Schreiber Our job, as a community of faith, is to welcome these newcomers with open arms and to share our way of life with them. They have MUSIC MINISTRY come to us seeking Jesus and eternal life. Let us walk with them Saturday, February 23 8:30 am-St. Rose_ in the coming months as they prepare to be baptized, confirmed, Accompanist Joan and eat the Body and drink the Blood of the Lord for the first Cantor Kayla time. These wonderful people remind us of who we are called to be, genuinely seeking Jesus in the church.
