Dahl Named a FCSL All Star Redshirtfreshman pitcher Trey Dahl from the University of South Florida baseball team has been named to the Florida Collegiate Summer League All-Star team.

The southpaw from Land O’Lakes, Fla., is 3-1 in six starts this season with an ERA of 3.55 for the Clermont Mavericks. He has struck out 32 batters in 33.0 innings of work.

Seven Bulls Selected in 2009 MLB Draft, R. Lockwood Returns, Taylor, Delphey Choose USF over Pros University of South Florida head baseball coach Lelo Prado saw seven players selected in the 2009 MLB Draft, including four signees and three members of the 2009 squad.

Signee Nick Lockwood was the fi rst Bull selected in the 2009 MLB Draft, a ninth round pick on Wednesday afternoon. The 5-11 shortstop from Jesuit High School was drafted by the Minnesota Twins as the 282nd overall choice in the draft. Nick, brother of Bulls center fi elder ultimately decided to pursue a professional and forego his USF career

Four rounds later, junior RHP Shawn Sanford was picked up by the as the 338th overall draftee . Sanford would also sign with the Giants.
