Woodlawn/Norwood Neighborhood Getting there:

Note: These sites are located in two contiguous areas and have been divided into two map areas.

By CAR: For Woodlawn Cemetery: Take the Major Deegan Expressway to 233rd Street exit. You are at the north end of Woodlawn Cemetery. Make a right onto and go south for several blocks to the main entrance.

For the Bronx Historical Society: continue down Jerome to East 208th Street. Turn left onto Bainbridge Avenue.

By TRAIN: For North Central Bronx Hospital: Take the #4 train to station. When exiting the train station, you will be on Jerome Avenue. Walk to 208th Street and then make a right. Walk to 210th Street until you get to Kossuth Avenue. The hospital is at 3424 Kossuth Avenue.

For the Bronx Historical Society: Take the “D” subway line to Bainbridge Avenue and 204th Street. Walk north on Bainbridge Avenue to 3266 Bainbridge Avenue. The Bronx River Soldier statue is just outside the Museum of Bronx History/Valentine-Varian House which is residence to the Bronx Historical Society.

For the Woodlawn Cemetery: Take the #4 to the Woodlawn station. The main entrance is at the Jerome Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue intersection.
