The Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice has been pleased to direct that to facilitate the process of digitization of court records with effect from 09.10.2017, all fresh filing on the appellate side filing counter will be required to be digitized at the time of filing as is being done on the Original Side and the Writ Jurisdiction of this Court. To facilitate this process, the vendor already working on the Original Side will be providing the digitization services at the Appellate Side Filing Counter. The process of scanning/portfolio shall be as follows: 1. The Advocates/litigants to deposit a scanning fee @ Rs.0.60 per page with the Scanning Agency at the Counter and attach a receipt of such payment along with the paper-book filed in hard copy. The minimum scanning fee will be Rs.5/-. The aggregate scanning charges will be rounded off to the nearest multiple of Rs.5/-. 2. Once the matter is cleared after scrutiny it will be sent to the Scanning Agency by the Registry. 3. The Scanning Agency will scan the papers, book-mark the same and endorse the first and last page of the filed paper-book with the stamp ‘SCANNED’. 4. The scanned copy will be transferred and stored on the server of the Court in a secured manner. The hard copy of the paper-book will thereafter be sent to the Listing Branch for further processing. 5. In case, where the paper-book had been returned to Advocate/litigant with some objections and the Advocate/litigant had added some more papers in the paper-book while removing the objections or otherwise, at the time of re-filing of paper-book, the Advocate/litigant will have to pay the difference of the scanning fee to the Scanning Agency at the Counter and attach the copy thereof at the time of re-filing. The story of the Devadasis, Maibis and Maharis / भहायी is well known. There are monk dancers in Assam called bhakats who are examples of males who dedicate their lives to the performance of dance as an offering and a ritual in a temple. There were also public platforms, where for entertainment purposes men and women danced. Chhau / छाऊ, Raibenshe / यैफᴂशे, Yakshagana / मऺगान, Kuchipudi / कु चिऩुड़ी, etc are examples of how and when traditionally males’ danced. Some of the women belonging to specific communities were associated with dancing for entertainment. For instance the Kalbelia / कारफेलरमा, Rai / याइ and Bedia / फेडडमा women were for centuries known to dance for entertainment. It is believed that the Bedia women danced for the laborers from different parts of the word who had collected at Taj Ganj at the time of the building of the Taj Mahal. Later they were among the communities and tribes that entertained the British troupes. Today many Bedia girls are among the Bar dancers of Mumbai. Apart from these girls there was also a group of traditional performers called by various names- Tawaif / तवामप, baijis / फाईजी, 1 etc. They were a whole range of professional dancing girls, some so talented that they had access to the highest centres of power, like the palace and the courtly setting, and were well integrated with the royals and the aristocracy.
