Permanent Home Address: Unguwar Kanawa Kankia, State. Correspondence Address: Department of Biochemistry, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, 2218, .

Qualification: PhD Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology

Area of Specialization: Molecular, Biotechnological and Pharmacological approaches to improving breast and ovarian cancer therapy

Experience: Academic (Teaching/Research) & Non-academic (Academic Planning)

Applications and techniques used in my research: 1. Bioinformatics 2. DNA/RNA Isolation, 3. PCR, and RTPCR 4. Molecular Cloning and Gene delivery, 5. Expression and Trafficking Analysis; 6. Gene Promoter Constructs and Reporter Assays; 7. Biochemical Techniques involving Protein Expression and Characterisation (Extraction, Quantification and Purification) 8. ELISA based assays; 9. Fluorescence and Luminescence based assays; 10. Immuno-detection techniques including Western blotting, Immunocytochemistry 11. Cell culture Techniques (2D & 3D) and Stable cell lines; 12. Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity Assays such as MTT and MTS assays and 13. Drug Internalisation and Metabolism Assays, etc

Research Interest My research interest involves the use of monoclonal antibodies and small molecule inhibitors for the treatment of cancer. Drug resistance is a major challenge in cancer research, since it limits the efficacy of most current cancer therapy. The resistance to a drug may be intrinsic or acquired during administration and may account for more than 90% of treatment failure in patients with metastatic cancer. There is need to

discover and develop new molecules or strategies with anticancer efficacy. In the past novel anticancer principles like single or combined drug treatments have been used. My research will follow such tract to explore, and develop anticancer principles by reprograming some genes and inhibiting some signaling pathways. Then use recombinant DNA technology, tissue culture, microscopy, immunohistochemistry and enzymes assay techniques to study cancer cells dynamics/survivorship and to inform treatment design and efficacy of these anticancer principles from reprograming of genes and inhibition of certain signaling pathways like that of EGFR and NRF2.

Objective To offer first class solutions that will boost the accomplishments of

my institution’s goal and develops my skills for thorough success.
