Assistant Secretary Balvinder Singh As you may know, the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board (“CSGB”) manages and Treasurer operates the three Sikh Institutions, i.e. Central Sikh Temple, Silat Road Sikh Gurmit Singh Grewal Temple and the Sikh Centre. A Sikh is encouraged to Baljit Singh donate towards noble causes and share his earnings with others so that no one Chairman is left behind. Sikh Centre Kirpal Singh Sidhu The CSGB does not receive any government funding and is wholly dependent Chairman on donations from the sangat, as yourself, to fund and sustain the numerous Building Committee programmes and activities, which are highly subsidised. Most programmes are Jasmindar Singh Gholia offered free of charge. The aim is to encourage maximum participation by our sangat especially children, to learn about Sikhi values and to bring them closer to Guru ji. In addition, the CSGB actively supports and contributes to other groups that help the less fortunate, such as Sikh Welfare Council (SIWEC), Hindu Endowment Board and The Ashram -- a half way house that helps our youth reintegrate back into society. The community kitchen at Silat Road Sikh Temple provides free breakfast, lunch and dinner (langgar) to anyone who visits the Temple, regardless of race or religion. The kitchen is run on donations from the sangat (except where the programme is sponsored by a family).
