Dimarzio X2N D i M a r z i o . c o m Page 1 of 1 DiMarzio X2N Important: Read all of the following instructions before proceeding. If any questions or problems arise, you may refer them directly to us. The X2N has a very powerful magnet structure, so it is not necessary to adjust the pickup close to the strings for maximum performance. Because of the differences in string gauges and string tension between individual guitars, it is not possible to recommend a specific distance for pickup height. However, it is advisable to adjust the X2N far enough from the strings so that the string vibration will not be affected by the pickup's magnetic field. This is usually noticeable on the wound strings, and produces a wavering sound, particularly when the higher notes are played. The bass side of the pickup should be lowered until the wavering disappears. The treble side of the pickup can be adjusted closer to the strings. This may make the pickup appear tilted, but there is nothing wrong with this, as the treble strings usually produce less volume than the bass strings. Tilting the bass side away from the strings will help balance individual string volume. • Adrian Belew Signature Fly Manual
ADRIAN BELEW SIGNATURE FLY Owner’S MANUAL IMPORTANT! Before using your Parker Adrian Belew Signature Fly guitar please read these Safety Instructions. Although the design of this instrument has been extensively field tested by Adrian Belew, while on the road with King Crimson and other acts, it is important to remember that it has far more on-board electronics than any other guitar ever built, and should be treated with proper care & respect. 1. Please be VERY CAREFUL when installing new strings to pull them up and over the piezo bridge saddles when pushing them through the tremolo tailpiece. If you accidentally jam a string under a piezo saddle, there is a very good chance of breaking the connection to that transducer. Replacing a saddle is not something you would want to do while on the road! 2. Don’t force or jam the connectors or controls. If something doesn’t feel right or if you have any other concerns, show it to your technician sooner rather than later! 3. Avoid extremes of temperature, humidity, and vibration. 4. Check your shoulder straps, guitar stands, and other accessories routinely to be sure they are up to the job. 5. If you let others play or handle the instrument, be sure they understand the unique status and importance of this design before they take the wheel. 6. Don’t forget to turn the standby switch on the back cover OFF when you put the instrument away. Remove the 9 Volt battery if you’re not going to play it for a while.

Acoustic Guitar Central: Ken Parker Guitars Profile http://www.acousticguitar.com/article/default.aspx?articlei... send to printer close window Ken Parker Guitars Profile Innovative archtops from the inventor of the Parker Fly electric guitar. With video. By Baker Rorick Acoustic Guitar senior editor Teja Gerken plays the Parker Spot Ken Parker is best known for shaking up the electric guitar world with his revolutionary Parker Fly in the early 1990s. Having sold Parker Guitars in 2004 (to US Music, makers of Washburn and other brands), he has returned to his first love—hand-building acoustic archtops in the solitude of a one-man shop. Parker's archtops, like his radical electrics, hardly follow any existing mold, and he continues to pursue his mission to explore the unrealized potential of guitar design. Fusing aerospace materials with fine woods and old-world craftsmanship, Parker's archtops are featherweight, expressive, loud, and versatile. He believes that a properly designed archtop guitar is the true universal steel-string, suitable for any style of music. Parker is a guitar iconoclast who has spent his life questioning conventions, but there's method to his madness and a sound reason behind every approach. Raised on Long Island, New York, Parker, now 55, worked in a Rochester, New York, grandfather-clock factory in his early 20s and began building banjos and other stringed instruments while working with noted furniture-maker Richard Newman. Guitar lessons led to an obsession with archtop guitars, and after building one, he moved back to Long Island to make more, sharing a shop with a lute maker in the mid-'70s.

  • Dimarzio Elemental™, Super Natural™ and Virtual Acoustic™ Models
D i M a r z i o . c o m Page 1 of 3 DiMarzio Elemental™, Super Natural™ and Virtual Acoustic™ models Important: Read all of the following instructions before proceeding. If any questions or problems arise, you may refer them directly to us. The Elemental™, Super Natural™ and Virtual Acoustic™ are designed to work with round-hole, acoustic guitars. They should install in all guitars with sound hole diameters between 311/16” and 41/8”. Please note: these pickups are magnetic, and will not work with nylon strings. The magnetic field is shaped to produce a balanced, even sound with standard bronze string sets. If your guitar has strings of a different alloy or arrangement (for example, E, B and G strings unwound), please contact DiMarzio for information on achieving a correctly-balanced sound. The Elemental™, Super Natural Plus™ and Virtual Acoustic™ should be installed with the volume control on the high E side of the sound hole. The Super Natural™ should be installed with the polepieces towards the neck. To maintain correct string balance, left-handed guitars with have the pickup installed in the reverse direction, with the polepieces towards the bridge. It is possible to install your pickup while the guitar is in playing position, but we recommend putting the guitar on a flat, non- scratching surface so both hands can be used. 1. Slide the pickup under the strings from the high E (treble) side. The cable will exit from the high E side. You should not have to loosen or remove the strings, though either of these conditions can make installation easier.
