Gustave "Gus" Perna. These quarterly meetings allow Perna to review the accomplishments and initiatives of JMC, which is of 10 major subordinate commands of AMC. At the beginning of the meeting, Perna gave coins to select employees for their exceptional work during the last quarter. Perna stated that the coins were "combat patch color, and I can't think of a better representation of people supporting combat than through munitions. Your location in Rock Island doesn't represent the impact you have throughout the world." The Commanding General of JMC, Brig. Gen. Michelle M.T. Letcher, led the brief and focused on how JMC is operationalizing AMC initiatives. Introduced two years ago, the program empowers junior leaders at the squad level to reduce sexual assault and violence by building cohesive units through shared and mutual trust. According to written testimony provided to lawmakers by Sgt. Maj. of the Army Daniel A. Dailey, the service has now spread the program to 27 ready and resilient campuses on Army installations. In the first quarter of fiscal year 2019, Dailey testified that the service has also conducted 17 workshops that showed positive feedback. Certified resiliency trainers have been embedded at the company level to train Soldiers on sustaining readiness and optimizing performance. "We've been very consistent about where we're trying to take the Army … by 2028," said Under Secretary of the Army Ryan D. McCarthy. "We are trying to enable the National Defense Strategy, and we have taken some pretty dramatic steps to get there." The under secretary discussed the Army's upcoming budget request during the Association of the U.S. Army's Institute of Land Warfare breakfast series in Arlington, Virginia Tuesday morning. Owning Marijuana Stocks May Skunk Your Security Clearance or Chances of Getting One If you work for the Defense Department, owning one of the most talked about and potentially lucrative stocks on the market may put your job in jeopardy. The DoD Consolidated Adjudications Facility’s current legal position is that ownership of marijuana stocks is considered involvement in drug-related activities, and would be a “reportable incident” under the continuous evaluation process. Potentially, it could lead to the loss of security clearances for service members, contractors and DoD civilians. Owning the stocks could prevent someone from gaining a security clearance as well. The policy was first publicly circulated in a recent post by the Facebook group Air Force amn/nco/snco. A Pentagon spokeswoman later confirmed its accuracy to Federal News Network. The post included an email sent from Air Combat Command’s headquarters, quoting answers it had been sent by the DoDCAF. The policy in the email affects all DoD employees and contractors, not just airmen, a DoD spokeswoman told Federal News Network.
