The Hindu community can be really proud of completing one year of 15,500 square feet of Temple Complex on 4.8 acres of beautiful land. It is indeed rare for a small community to accomplish such a feat. The Hindu religion is not simply a religion of rituals, since it integrates culture and religion into our daily lives and our Temple Complex provides a focal point for the religious as well as the cul- tural activities of our community. We wish to thank all the members of our community and hope that we will flourish in our religious and cultural endeavors at the Temple for generations to come. We should all make use of our beloved Temple to unite our community. We have witnessed a prosperous first half of the year, 2016.

ICF Hindu Temple of Oklahoma Calendar of Events 2012 Vaishno Devi Temple The first mention of the Mother Goddess is in the epic Mahabharat. When the armies of Pandavas and Kaurvas were arrayed in the battlefield of Kurukshetra, Arjun, the chief warrior of Pandavas upon the advice of Sri Krishna; meditated upon the Mother Goddess and sought Her bless- ings for victory. This is when Arjun addresses the Mother Goddess as ‘Jambookatak Chit- yaishu Nityam Sannihi- talaye’, which means ‘you who always dwell in the temple on the slope of the mountain in Jamboo’ (probably referring to the present day Jammu). • BANGLADESH Executive Summary the Constitution and Other Laws And
BANGLADESH Executive Summary The constitution and other laws and policies protect religious freedom and, in practice, the government generally respected religious freedom. The government did not demonstrate a trend toward either improvement or deterioration in respect for and protection of the right to religious freedom. However, some observers stated the government’s treatment of religious minorities improved during the year, citing the increase in government funds for minority welfare trusts and police protection of minority groups facing societal attacks. An amendment to the constitution passed on June 30 established Islam as the state religion but reaffirmed the country as a secular state. The constitution provides for the right to profess, practice, or propagate all religions, subject to law, public order, and morality. Citizens were free to practice the religion of their choice. Although government officials, including police, were sometimes slow to assist religious minority victims of harassment and violence, there were notable examples of timely and effective police intervention. The government and many civil society leaders stated that violence against religious minorities normally had political or economic dimensions as well and could not be attributed solely to religious belief or affiliation. There were reports of societal abuses or discrimination based on religious affiliation, belief, or practice, but reports suggest that abuses declined in comparison to the previous year. There were scattered attacks on religious and ethnic minorities perpetrated by nongovernmental actors, and because of the low social status of religious minorities, they were often seen as having little political recourse. Hindu, Christian, and Buddhist minorities experienced discrimination and sometimes violence from the Muslim majority population.

As per the mythology it is referred as Mahabharata as a place, where Arjuna built this temple for Lord Krishna in the chapter of Santhana Gopalam. And for the same Lord Vishnu assigned Arjuna to go to the earth with Lord Ganesha to find out the missing Brahmin Children’s from Vaikundam. After a long period of journey they gathered at a place in dusk. Then Arjuna took an arrow from his Pooni (containment for arrows ) and bowed towards east and gave instructions to Lord Ganesha, that where the arrow lies would be the suitable place for our regular prayers and to chant Vishnu mantras. Lord Ganesha started walking towards the east and he saw that arrow in a place where a lot of Sesame seed was found around the river Poorna. And it was believed that in this place where Arjuna opened his Pooni named as Poonithura and the place where they selected for praying Lord Maha Vishnu named as Poorna Veda Puri (Later named as Tripoonithura) and here the Arjuna constructed a temple for Lord Visnu named as Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple.

Page 1 of 9 Introduction It is surprising to note that Lord Krishna’s life represents the average person of today. Brought up in a lower middle class family, the small boy spends his entire time in his studies under very trying circumstances. Higher studies take him to the cities and even overseas. His circumstances change totally when he converts his Knowledge into Experience. Experience takes him to corridors of Power which, again, lands him in a completely different atmosphere. His later days don’t even remotely resemble his childhood days. He could hardly return to his native village which was his dwelling place as a child. Finally, he leaves the world as a loner in yet another totally different atmosphere. Lord Krishna’s life exactly corresponds to such a life of an average person today in spite of the fact that 5000 years have elapsed since his appearance on this planet. He was brought up in a cowherd’s family as a child.
