This version is a vatting of the Yoichi and Miyagikyo single malts of which a strong percentage is aged in sher- ry oak giving this blended malt a unique richness. The colour is old gold with copper highlights. The nose is spicy and delicate, it also reveals fruity (yellow plum, peach) and chocolate notes. It develops into old leather, dried tobacco leaf, and dried fruit (apricot, fig). On the palate it is rich and generous, it is reminiscent of preserved fruit (orange) and Morello cherry, and is extremely unctuous. Creamy, it develops into toffee, mocha and hazelnut. The finish is long, with an aftertaste of praline, charred wood and cigar-smoke, worth of an old Speyside whisky. Aniseed and citrus provide this whisky with its freshness and elegance. Fine herbal notes are also present.

The whisky made early 60s-70s with direct firing of stills, the abundant use of Golden Promise Barley, a slower more deliberated approach to production and even a more generous portion of malts in blends of the period ,all lead to a treasure of never again to be repeated whiskies. We refer to this as the „“The Golden Era of whisky.
