Complete Europe covered • Level 1b image, oil spill analysis and related info delivered within 30 minutes after satellite data reception • Global • Latest Certification Status: All northern KSAT ground stations (Svalbard, Tromsø and Grimstad) have been certified for RadarSat-2 operations. • KSAT will provide RadarSat-2 data to the DAP service in collaboration with MDA. • Future Plans: Radarsat follow-on missions, Sentinel / 8 / 24/06/2009 Kompsat-2 • Completed 1st year of operations. • KompSat-2 acquisitions at Svalbard. Approximately 10 daily contacts are used for data downlink at the SvalSat satellite station. • Level 1 processing at KSAT/Tromsø for scientific users and at SISA/Toulouse for commercial users • Level 1b Archive at KSAT, Tromsø / 9 / 24/06/2009 KSAT Communication Network • EO Data Flow supported through several network solutions: Svalbard • Leased (dedicated) circuits • MPLS clouds Oslo • Research integrated networks • Internet US ASIA • Capacity sharing • On satellite link from Antarctica to US/Europe • Between station and main telecom PoPs / 10 / 24/06/2009 KSAT Communication Network 1 Gbit local Svalbard circuit Leased circuits ranging from 34 Mbit to 155 Mbit MPLS and/or Users Internet Tromsø Leased Leased circuits Circuit Teleport Satellite Link 65 Mbit Antarctica / 11 / 24/06/2009 HMA Implementation - Status • Prototype ordering service, implementation of HMA ordering schema (V 0.9.2 ). • operational discovery service, based on OGC Catalog service ebRIM profile (CS-W V 2.0.0) for level1 products • Operational data access services, implementing OGC WMS/WCS/WFS / 12 / 24/06/2009 HMA Implementation – Next Steps • Operational ordering service based on HMA ordering, with enhanced ”order negotiation” functionality. • Future ordering service interfacing to sat-operators/owners sensor planning services • Discovery and ordering from rawdata archives. / 13 / 24/06/2009 Summary • SvalSat station continues to expand in terms missions and users and in terms of capabilities (Capacity, Ka-band etc.) • Antarctica station in its third year of successful operations. Serves key commercial and scientific missions. • Radarsat-2 and future RadarSat/Sentinel secures data and service continuity for the maritime monitoring and surveilleance. • HMA compliant ordering and sensor planning is key for data delivery services. / 14 / 24/06/2009.
