Will you join them once again? Will you continue to write the story of hope? And if you have never given, will you make a pledge of just $25 per month? We joined the St. Lorenzo community in 2002, the year Tyler and I got married. I was first introduced to the parish, years ago, by my Uncle Eddie (R.I.P.) and Auntie Annie David, whom we would visit in Walnut every summer from the East coast. I still remember attending masses in the warehouse behind the post office! Our home was blessed by Fr. Jerry in 2002, and our older son, Tj, was baptized by Fr. Michael in 2003. My sister Theresa and I joined the Eucharistic Ministry shortly after I had our second son, Toby, and when Fr. Tony became our Pastor, in 2005. Attending Catholic schools all our lives on my dad’s Navy man salary, not only emptied our parents pockets, but also gave Theresa the feeling that being an EME was a way to give back to our faith that had done so much for us through the years and throughout our constant moves as Navy brats. I chose to become an EME following in the footsteps of my Auntie Priscilla Vasquez, Auntie Annie, and Uncle Eddie who served as EMEs and as a lector. Theresa and I have been the 9am EME Mass Co-Leaders for about 5 years now. (continued on page 9) Tyler, Tj, Tina & Toby We pray & worship. We are a Priestly community.
