The Regional District of Central Okanagan Parks Services invites bench donations from individuals, organizations, businesses, and service groups. Picnic tables are also available for donation.

The first step in making a donation is reviewing the Bench Donation Guidelines and contacting the Regional Parks Services office. Staff will work with you to discuss and review donation options. For full Bench Donation Guidelines please visit regionaldistrict.com/parks or call 250-469-6232.

Not all Regional Parks are available for bench and picnic table donations. Please contact Regional Parks Services staff for a current list of donation sites.

All donated benches and picnic tables become the property of the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

Donors enter into a ten (10) year donation agreement with the Regional District. At the end of the term, the donation may be renewed for another ten (10) years at the current year’s price. If donors do not wish to renew then the bench or picnic table will be made available to another donor.

Plaque sizes and materials are standardized. Plaques are cast in bronze and are 3" high by 6" wide in size. Plaques are inlaid into the backrest of the bench or onto the surface of the picnic table.

Benches have a black powder coated aluminum frame with light beige recycled plastic lumber boards. Benches are six feet long.

Picnic tables have a black powder coated aluminum frame with light beige recycled plastic lumber boards. Picnic tables are six feet long by sixty inches wide and thirty inches high.

For your plaque you are encouraged to choose a message that is uplifting, inspirational, and promotes enjoyment of the park. Plaques are not intended to serve as replacements for appropriate memorial markers. Dates indicating lifetime and wording that serves to create a memorial of a deceased person will not be permitted. Examples of permitted wording include, but are not limited to: “Enjoy the View”, “Forever Loved”, “Loved by All”, “A Favourite Place”, popular quotations, etc. Parks Services staff have final approval over plaque wording.
