V. — Statuses of the lithosiinae genera Sesapa Walker, 1854 and Nipponasura Inoue, 1965 are revised, Sesapa is treated as a valid distinct genus and Nipponasura is downgraded here as a subgenus of Sesapa. Male and female genitalia of Sesapa and male vesica of Nipponasura are described and illustrated for the fi rst time. A new combination is established: Sesapa (Sesapa) sanguinea (Moore, 1877), comb. n. Sesapa (Nipponasura) inouei Volynkin, nom. n. is introduced as replacement name for Nipponasura sanguinea Inoue, 1965. Introduction Th e Asura / Miltochrista generic complex is one of the largest and taxonomically most diffi cult Lithosiini groups including several hundreds of species distributed in Afrotropical, Oriental, Palaearctic and Australian Regions. Systematics of the Oriental and partly Palaearctic members of the generic complex was reviewed by Holloway (2001), and those of the Afrotropical members by Durante (2008; 2009; 2012). Th e genus Sesapa was erected by Walker (1854) for a single species Sesapa inscripta Walker, 1854. Hamp- son (1900) synonymized it with Miltochrista, and at present several other taxa originally described as Sesapa by diff erent authors (Butler, 1877; Moore, 1877) are placed to the genera Miltochrista and Barsine (Holloway, 2001; Kirti, Singh, 2015). -

A variety of collecting methods was used, including netting, light attracting, light trapping and pheromone trapping. The specimens were identified by the currently available pictorial sources and determination keys. Many were also sent to specialists for confirmation or identification. The majority of the data was from Kanawha County, reflecting the area of more intensive sampling effort by the senior author. Injection of extracts into the abdomen of virgin females induced unreceptivity. The virgin females started behaving like mated females by rejecting the males by avoiding the advances made by the latter to mate. Unreceptivity was observed in about 93% of the females on the day of injection, which reduced to 82% on the second scotophase compared to controls. However, on the third day, 75% of them reverted back to receptivity that was comparable to virgin count. The Tricine–SDS-PAGE of MAG-duplex of virgin and mated male moths revealed the conspicuous absence of a low molecular weight (< 7 kDa) peptide band in the mated moths, and the possibility of being delivered to female at the time of mating. MALDI-TOF spectra of the same extracts showed the presence of several peptides < 7 kDa, further, the absence of them in mated moths. Studies on nocturnal Lepidoptera were carried out on the Laukėnai raised bog and the adjacent wet forest in 2001. Species composition and abundance were evaluated and compared. The species richness was much higher in the forest than at the bog. The core of each lepidopteran community was composed of 22 species with an abundance of higher than 1.0% of the total catch. Tyrpho- philous Hypenodes humidalis (22.0% of all individuals) and Nola aerugula (13.0%) were the dominant species in the raised bog community, while tyrphoneutral Pelosia muscerda (13.6%) and Eilema griseola (8.3%) were the most abundant species at the forest site. Five tyrphobiotic and nine tyrphophilous species made up 43.4% of the total catch on the bog, and three and seven species, respectively, at the forest site, where they made up 9.2% of all individuals. 59% of lepidopteran species recorded on the bog and 36% at the forest site were represented by less than five individuals. The species compositions of these communities showed a weak similarity. Habitat preferences of the tyrphobiontic and tyrphophilous species and dispersal of some of the species between the habi- tats are discussed. INTRODUCTION (1996). They cover the wing membranes and other body parts and give butterflies and moths their often stunning appearance. Generally, the patterns made by scales are visual signals for intra- and interspecific communication. In males, scales and/or bristles also make up the androconial organs, which emit volatile signals during courtship. Here, a structurally and putative functionally novel type of scales and bristles is reported: ‘crystal macrosetae’. These lack trabeculae and windows, are made up by a very thin and flexible envelope only and contain crystallizing material. In ‘crystal scales’, there is a flat surface ornamentation of modified ridges, while ‘crystal bristles’ often show large protrusions. Crystal macrosetae usually cannot be reliably recognized without destruction. Apparently, they serve as containers for large amounts of material that is viscous in living moths, highly hygroscopic, crystallizes when specimens dry up, and can be visualized by scanning electron microscopy. Crystal macrosetae occur in males only, always associated with or making up androconial organs located on various parts of the body, and have numerous forms with diverse surface ornamentation across many species and genera. -

One of these very common forms appeared to be a new sibling species which is described in this paper: Cyme laeta spec. nov. Four long forgotten allied taxa, described by the authors Rudolf van Eecke and Gustaaf Hulstaert, are compared and treated: Asura roseifusa Hulstaert, 1924a and Asura flavagraphia Van Eecke, 1926 are placed in Cyme (comb.nov.); Asura punctilinea Hulstaert, 1924a syn.nov. and Asura punctilinea aquilonis Hulstaert, 1924b syn.nov. are synonymized with Cyme reticulata Felder, 1861. Of all taxa concerned the adults and genitalia are depicted. Rangkuman: Spesies Cyme reticulate Felder, 1861 menunjukan variasi yang sangat besar di New Guinea dan kepulauannya. Salah satu bentuk umum spesies ini ternyata dibuktikan sebagai spesies tersendiri dan dideskripsi disini: Cyme laeta spec. nov. Empat taksa berkeluarga yang lama dilupakan dan yang dideskripsi oleh Rudolf van Eecke dan Gustaaf Hulstaert, dibandingkan dan dibahas: Asura roseifusa Hulstaert, 1924a dan Asura flavagraphia Van Eecke, 1926 ditempatkan di Cyme (comb.nov.); Asura punctilinea Hulstaert, 1924a syn.nov.
