Would you like to gain international experience during your study? At Faculty of Economics University of Ljubljana (FELU) you have the opportunity to take part in a so-called “Double Degree programme” in collaboration with one of our top partner institutions. WHAT IS A DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAMME? A Double Degree is an approved combined study programme leading to two degrees from two universities. After successful competition of all the programme requirements you receive a degree from FELU as well as a degree from partner university. Due to different national restrictions and differences between universities each Double Degree programme looks different, but it usually involves an equal amount of study-time at each university. Credits obtained at both universities within the programme are mutually acknowledged, resulting in a shortening of study time compared to acquiring both degrees separately. FELU is highly selective in its choice of partner universities, adding only high profile, research-oriented and accredited (EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accreditations) universities to its list. All of our partners are leading institutions in their country in the field of economics and/or business, and offer great academic opportunities that represent additional benefits for students. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS? In today's international labour market, graduates with degrees obtained in two different countries will be one step ahead of the competition. Your international exposure will be highly valued by potential employers, not just in terms of business but also as far as life skills are concerned. Some European and non-European companies are already familiar with Double Degree programmes and double degree holders are more likely to be the candidates for international positions with better career opportunities than regular degree holders. 4 There are more benefits to enjoy. You will: . obtain two degrees in considerably less time than it would take to earn them separately; . experience “the best of both worlds” each university adds its specialty to the programme and thus complements the partner institution; . experience different culture, business environment and learning approach; . gain greater perspective in addressing international issues; . have the opportunity to develop business level fluency in English; . undergo a diverse learning experience through a more international classroom; . take part in an internship (at least, this is as integral feature of some Double degree programmes, not all); . be exempted from GMAT at partner institution; . only pay tuition fees (part time students) at FELU, which are considerably lower than at partner institutions. WHO CAN APPLY? Please be aware that these programmes are demanding and more challenging than if you were to pursue a single degree programme at FELU. This means that only students with the strongest academic record and highest levels of ambition and motivation will be selected. SELECTION PROCEDURE If there are more qualified students applying for a programme at partner institution abroad than specified for an individual academic year, students who collect more points according to the following criteria take precedence: . Motivation for studying abroad; . Language proficiency; . Graduate programme performance; . Interview. 5 BACHELOR DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAMMES KYUNGPOOK NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (KNU) FACULTY OF ECONOMICS UNIVERSITY OF LJUBLJANA (FELU) Double Degree programme: . DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAMME UCU – SCHOOL OF LAW Regulations Contents Introduction Regulations Contact details Annex A – course planner Annex B – overview of required courses Annex C – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Introduction In the Netherlands it is necessary to obtain a degree in Dutch law to qualify for the so-called “toga professions” – practicing lawyer, public prosecutor and judge. These law degrees have, what is called, “civiel effect” and consists of a legally recognized Bachelor and Master in law. University College Utrecht and the Utrecht University School of Law offer UCU students the possibility to do a double degree program (DDLL: Law and Liberal Arts & Sciences Double Degree). Students, who according to UCU regulations have met all requirements for a UCU Bachelor’s degree and all requirements set by the UU school of Law for the LLB, are awarded two fully accredited Bachelor’s degrees, a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts or Sciences, and a LLB (Bachelordiploma Rechtsgeleerdheid). It allows these students to enter a master program to obtain the required “civiel effect”. By doing both simultaneously students optimize time as well as avoid paying the high institutional tuition fee for a second bachelor’s degree program. The DDLL is a fairly unique opportunity for UCU students interested in pursuing a career in legal practice in the Netherlands and thus obtaining both degrees in four years. The four-year program encompasses 240 ECTS in course credits, of which at least 140 in law. Students spend the first two years taking required and elective courses at UCU, in which they focus on law, choosing courses from the law track.

Flinders University Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Clinical Sciences / Doctor of Medicine Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) This page was last updated 10th October 2014 This list of FAQs is not exhaustive, but it does reflect the most commonly asked questions in relation to studying medicine at Flinders University. Please check other web pages for more detailed and additional information. Note that the information contained herewith is currently accurate however Flinders University reserves the right to change its policies and procedures. 1. What are my chances of an internship? Flinders University is not able to provide a guarantee of a medical internship to its Adelaide-based medical students. Internships do not fall under Flinders University’s authority and are managed by the State and Territory governments of Australia. Each state or territory government undertakes its own internship application process and they reserve the right to have their own allocation process and priority ranking lists offering internships. In South Australia the South Australian Medical Education and Training (SA MET) Unit currently manages the allocation of internship places. All medical students are advised to check their website (http://www.samet.org.au/) for details of the process in South Australia. Australia currently has more medical student graduates than the number of internship places in Australia. Graduate projections show that this will continue for the next few years and that this will affect graduates from all states and territories of Australia, including South Australia. The matter of internships is complex and Flinders University is unable to give advice to applicants on this matter as it falls outside of its jurisdiction.

  • 7.7 Double Degrees
(iv) The supervisor organises an induction session to provide OH&S guidelines and training and to work through the risk assessment process with the student. (v) The student and academic staff supervisor timetable 3 meetings (including the direct supervisor, if different) – one to agree on the scope of work at the start, one a mid-subject progress review, and one at the end to discuss the student’s performance and outcomes. (vi) The Head of School signs off on the Internship agreement. These subjects will be assessed as “satisfactory/unsatisfactory”, rather than being graded. Satisfactory performance will be based on: (i) completing the OH&S induction and risk assessment; (ii) completing the requisite hours of laboratory or field work as recorded in the work book and signed off by the direct supervisor, and attending all three scheduled meetings with the supervisor(s); (iii) attending at least six research seminars, and recording details of results and methods in the work book, signed off by the direct supervisor; (iv) satisfactorily completing an end-of-project paper critically reflecting on outcomes in relation to research objectives set at start of internship, and using newly gained experience to assess the completeness and effectiveness of published methods in the field [this paper is to be the basis for the final meeting with the supervisor(s)]. 7.7 DOUBLE DEGREES Double degrees are facilitated, to a large extent, by the flexibility of degrees with majors and elective subjects such as the Bachelor of Science and the Bachelor of Arts, as a major in these degrees can be completed with less than the 144 credit points required to complete a 3-year degree program.

  • For Students Who Want to Study Music Within a Liberal Arts Program
Hoff-Barthelson Music School College Advisory 2020 Your application process will depend on which degree you are seeking: a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts in Music, or a Bachelor of Arts or Science in another field. A BA in music, like most BAs, involves many courses outside of your major with approximately 40% of course work in the arts. A BM is a professional degree, and the course balance will be the opposite. Most of your courses will be degree-related: private lessons, solo classes, ensembles, composition, music theory, ear-training, music history, world music, piano for non-pianists, etc. You can get a BM in music performance, conducting, composition, jazz studies, music theory, music history, or music education. Most students who plan a career in performance seek a BM, but it is not essential, and many routes are possible. If you want a Bachelor of Arts, whether majoring in music or looking for valuable performance opportunities in the setting of another liberal arts degree, you will follow the general application process and focus on the quality of these offerings. Don’t assume that a university with a strong school of music will be a good place for you. This varies, and in some cases the professors and ensembles are only available to the music performance majors. It is important to ask about specific opportunities. You can schedule a trial lesson during your campus visit if you feel that it will influence your ultimate choice of school. If you are aiming for a Bachelor of Music in performance, the process is entirely different from the one for a BA.
