Double Degree Programme Ucu – School of Law
DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAMME UCU – SCHOOL OF LAW Regulations Contents Introduction Regulations Contact details Annex A – course planner Annex B – overview of required courses Annex C – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Introduction In the Netherlands it is necessary to obtain a degree in Dutch law to qualify for the so-called “toga professions” – practicing lawyer, public prosecutor and judge. These law degrees have, what is called, “civiel effect” and consists of a legally recognized Bachelor and Master in law. University College Utrecht and the Utrecht University School of Law offer UCU students the possibility to do a double degree program (DDLL: Law and Liberal Arts & Sciences Double Degree). Students, who according to UCU regulations have met all requirements for a UCU Bachelor’s degree and all requirements set by the UU school of Law for the LLB, are awarded two fully accredited Bachelor’s degrees, a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts or Sciences, and a LLB (Bachelordiploma Rechtsgeleerdheid). It allows these students to enter a master program to obtain the required “civiel effect”. By doing both simultaneously students optimize time as well as avoid paying the high institutional tuition fee for a second bachelor’s degree program. The DDLL is a fairly unique opportunity for UCU students interested in pursuing a career in legal practice in the Netherlands and thus obtaining both degrees in four years. The four-year program encompasses 240 ECTS in course credits, of which at least 140 in law. Students spend the first two years taking required and elective courses at UCU, in which they focus on law, choosing courses from the law track. -

PL9700208 28 Section V ,.,.-; ZEUS EXPERIMENT AT HERA ' ZEUS Collaboration 2 Group from the Institute of Nuclear Physics includes: P. Borzeniski, J. Chwastowski, A. Eskreys, K. Piotrzkowski, M. Przybycieri, M. Zachara, L. Zawiejski (physicists) and J. Andruszkow, B. Dajarowski, W. Daniluk, P. Jurkiewicz, A. Kotarba, K. Oliwa. W. Wierba (engineers and technicians) Third year of HERA operation was a very successful one for the HERA crew. Experiments (ZEUS and HI) collected more than 3pb~1 of the integrated luminosity compared to ()00nb~^ in the previous year. Higher luminosity means also higher rates and higher background. That created new problems for our experiment at the beginning of the running period. The common effort of all groups taking care of the different detector components resulted in a smooth and successful running of the ZEUS experiment. The main responsibility of the Cracow group is the reliable performance of the Luminosity Monitor, which has been designed and built by our group. That means the maintenance of the detector, continuous development of the online and offline software tools and the luminosity measurement itself. A very detailed offline analysis of the 1993 luminosity data was done in 1994. This resulted in much better understanding of the systematic effects influencing the luminosity measurement. The systematic error in the determination of the integrated luminosity is now below 2.5%. Modification of the hardware setup, especially replacement of the photomultipliers in the calorimeters, made during the 1993/1994 winter shutdown, allowed for more stable opera- tion in the 1994 running period. Much improvement has also been achieved in both offline and online software. -

EXCHANGE REPORT ESADE Business School (Barcelona, Spain)
EXCHANGE REPORT ESADE Business School (Barcelona, Spain) TSENG, Sheng Hong (RMBI, Year4) 2018-19 Fall Monthly Activity Log August 2018 I arrived at Barcelona on the morning of August 23rd alone and spent the first few days exploring the city a bit to get used to the city of Gaudi since the school orientation program started on August 28th and there is time available for me to try traveling alone in the city center of Barcelona with new friends met at Airbnb and hostels. This is the time when Barcelona citizens are still enjoying its warm sun and good weather and it will be a very good idea to go to the beach and enjoy life in late August. There is also a festival during which each district will set up and decorate their streets with handmade dolls that stand at one floor high to demonstrate their pride and sense of belonging to the neighborhood. It was one day late when I found out about the festival so I only saw some remaining dolls ready to be removed. If you want to come early and travel a bit before school officially starts, it’s recommended to research more about the local culture and festivals so that when you join them you will understand more about the history behind. September 2018 The school orientation program officially started from August 28th and would last 2 weeks long. During these two week, I attended the Elementary Level Spanish course with other exchange students. Since I have learned some Spanish before so I wanted to challenge myself, thus joining the harder level. -
