ESADE Business School, Barcelona, Spain Position Announcement Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Operations (Department of Operations Management and Innovation) ESADE Business School seeks to appoint an Assistant professor level with strong background in Operations. The position of full-time professor in the Department of Operations Management and innovation will be appointed in September 2013. The successful candidate will contribute to both theoretical and applied aspects of the department’s research. The applicants are also expected to play an active role in teaching on undergraduate courses (Bachelor in Business Administration) and graduate courses (MBA FT). The candidate should have a PhD in the area, and possess outstanding research and teaching records. Main fields of research should be: Process Improvement, Operations Strategy and Global Operations, Performance Measurement Systems and Operational Risk Management. Focus on applied research and a minimum of two years experience in teaching core operations management courses, as well as two years of company experience prior to PhD, are key valued competences. EXCHANGE REPORT ESADE Business School (Barcelona, Spain) TSENG, Sheng Hong (RMBI, Year4) 2018-19 Fall Monthly Activity Log August 2018 I arrived at Barcelona on the morning of August 23rd alone and spent the first few days exploring the city a bit to get used to the city of Gaudi since the school orientation program started on August 28th and there is time available for me to try traveling alone in the city center of Barcelona with new friends met at Airbnb and hostels. This is the time when Barcelona citizens are still enjoying its warm sun and good weather and it will be a very good idea to go to the beach and enjoy life in late August. There is also a festival during which each district will set up and decorate their streets with handmade dolls that stand at one floor high to demonstrate their pride and sense of belonging to the neighborhood. It was one day late when I found out about the festival so I only saw some remaining dolls ready to be removed. If you want to come early and travel a bit before school officially starts, it’s recommended to research more about the local culture and festivals so that when you join them you will understand more about the history behind. September 2018 The school orientation program officially started from August 28th and would last 2 weeks long. During these two week, I attended the Elementary Level Spanish course with other exchange students. Since I have learned some Spanish before so I wanted to challenge myself, thus joining the harder level.

ESADE Business School, Barcelona or Madrid, Spain Position Announcement Tenure-Track Faculty Position 1 in Industrial Organization (Department of Economics) ESADE Business School seeks to appoint a faculty member at assistant or associate professor level with a strong background in Sector Analysis, Competition and Industrial Policies. The position of full-time professor in the Department of Economics will be appointed in September 2009 and it could be fulfilled either in Madrid or Barcelona campus. The successful candidate will contribute to both theoretical and applied aspects of the department’s research and will have an active research agenda. The applicant is also expected to play an active role in the Executive Education courses as well as graduate courses (MBA & Ph.D. programs). The candidate should have a Ph.D. in the area, and possess outstanding research and teaching qualifications. Possible areas of research and teaching are topics such as: Sector Analysis, Competition and Industrial Policies, and Market Regulation in general. The Department of Economics consists of nine professors, whose profiles fall into two basic areas: macroeconomics and microeconomic analysis. The academic and professional backgrounds of the faculty within each of these areas are diverse, and provide a complete range of experience capable of responding to the varied needs of the different ESADE program participants. Abiertos al mundo: internacionalidad La voluntad de proyección internacional ha estado presente en la visión, los valores y la estrategia de ESADE desde hace más de tres décadas. La participación en el Programme in International Management (PIM) fue un primer paso muy importante en la internacionalización de los programas de ESADE. Creado en 1973 por la Stern School of Business de la New York University y HEC Paris, ESADE se convirtió en su cuarto miembro en 1975. En la actualidad, 54 escuelas de negocios de todo el mundo son miembros del PIM, por lo que constituye la red de intercambio de estudiantes de posgrado en management de mayor reputación y más grande del mundo. 139 Otro hito importante fue la fundación de la Community of European Management Schools (CEMS), en 1988, por iniciativa de HEC Paris y ESADE, a la que se añadieron como miembros fundadores la Università Bocconi de Milán y la Universität zu Köln. La CEMS cuenta en la actualidad con 28 instituciones académicas de reconocido prestigio internacional y con el apoyo de unas 60 empresas multinacionales líderes en sus respectivos sectores. Las escuelas miembros de la CEMS imparten conjuntamente el CEMS Master’s in International Management, programa que ocupa el primer lugar en el último ranking mundial elaborado por el The Financial Times en la categoría de másteres en management dirigidos a personas sin experiencia laboral (octubre de 2009).
