Class Placement

Our studio is based on the Royal Academy of Dance (English) Method, from which we derive our class placement structure. Class placement is ultimately decided by our instructors. Balet is the Pre-Ballet- 3 & 4 Year Olds Pre-Primary- Child must be 5 as of September 1st Primary- Age 6 or older Grade 1- Age 7, Recommended from this grade on to foundation of al take twice a week, especially if taking an RAD exam Grade 2- Age 8+, Twice a week recommended Grades 3- Age 9+, Twice a week required dance; helpful Grade 4- Age 10+, Twice a week required, but can add a third class, which is recommended to be a Grade 5 class Grade 5- Age 11+, Three times a week required for posture, Inter Foundation- Age 11+, Junior High (at least 2 years at this level) Intermediate- Age 13+, High School (at least 2 years at this level) poise, grace, & Advanced Foundation- Progression after Intermediate Advanced- Age 15+, High School Pointe- Depends on strength and ability, placement by teachers musicality Modern & Contemporary- Gr 4- Advanced Tap- All ages, placement by teacher Dress Code

Hair- All girls must have their hair in a neat bun. It is for discipline, line and the ability to move & see. Girls with short hair should wear a headband. Due to Covid-19 our studio has decided to adopt the following healthy and safety measures for as long as they are necessary. As this is an ever-changing situation, we appreciate your understanding as we make any needed alterations to this plan throughout the year. Should any changes arise, you will be notified via our email newsletters.

• Class sizes will be limited.

• Students will be dropped off at our front studio door (facing the south) and be released from the side door (facing the parking lot). Younger students will be escorted to the parking lot by a helper.

• Students will use hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the building

• Thermal temperatures will be taken upon entry by a teacher or helper. Anyone with an elevated temperature will not be able to attend class. (Please be aware that having the heat on in your car prior to entering the building can impact the temperature reading.)

• Teachers will wear masks.

• Social distancing squares will be marked out on the floor and adhered to during class.

• All bars, door knobs, etc… will be sanitized after each class.

• Our studio is also adhering to stricter daily cleaning policies at the close of each day.
