Eleanor was born in Melbourne, and moved to Mildura where she received her early ballet training at the Mildura Ballet & Dance Guild.

Eleanor returned to Melbourne at the age of 16 to continue her studies full- time at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. Upon graduation she received the Anne Woolliams Award for the top senior dance student.
