El bosque de los Guayupes es un bosque natural denso, ubicado en el departamento del Meta, Colombia, sobre la zona del piedemonte llanero, abarca un gradiente altitudinal entre los 1000 y 3.650 m.s.n.m. En la parte alta (3.600 m.s.n.m) nacen los ríos Guaviare, Meta, Apure y Portuguesa que van a conformar la gran cuenca del rio Orinoco, presenta ecosistemas de bosque alto andino, bosque subandino y selva neotropical inferior; el clima presenta variaciones según la ubicación, en la zona alta se presentan precipitaciones que superan los 3.000 mm al año, con temperaturas bajas; en la zona de piedemonte las precipitaciones y las temperaturas aumentan gradualmente; la temperatura varía entre los 17 y 27°C. Este bosque es de vital importancia puesto que permite la conectividad de los ecosistemas de alta montaña y aquellos de las partes bajas en los llanos orientales colombianos.
