In collaboration with the musée du Louvre, every year FIAC Hors les Murs presents a careful selection of some twenty artworks in the Jardin des Tuileries - Domaine du Louvre, deployed in the fountains, basins, lawns, alleys and groves of the garden. Sculptures, installations, site-specific projects, performances and sound pieces are deployed in the garden, resonating with this heritage setting in the heart of Paris and responding to its scale, perspectives and history. Located in the heart of Paris, along the historic axis that runs from the musée du Louvre to the Place de la Concorde, the Jardin des Tuileries provides the opportunity for an idyllic stroll through what is assuredly one of the most beautiful and prestigious gardens in the world. Under the authority of the musée du Louvre since 2005, the Jardin des Tuileries is the largest (25,5 hectares) and the oldest public garden in Paris. The garden welcomes 14 million visitors every year. More than 500 000 visitors attend the Hors les Murs programme during FIAC week. This historical monument is also been listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco since 1991. All year round, the garden provides the setting for over 200 sculptures from the 17th to the 20th century. Discover the settings of the Jardin des Tuileries on our virtual tour at THIS LINK.

In an unprecedented development of the Hors les Murs exhibition in the Jardin des Tuileries - Domaine du Louvre, in 2018 FIAC inaugurated an ephemeral village on the most iconic of all Parisian squares, the Place de la Concorde.
An ensemble of historic and contemporary architectures, artists’ houses, penetrable pavilions and utopian spaces is presented.

Every year, FIAC Hors les Murs gives carte blanche to an artist to imagine a specific project for the Place Vendôme.
Built in perfect classical symmetry, the Place Vendôme provides an exceptionnal framework for contemporary creation.
Over the years, it has showcased a series of bold and diverse projects including works by Jaume Plensa, Tadashi Kawamata, Paul McCarthy, Dan Graham, Ugo Rondinone, Oscar Tuazon, Elmgreen & Dragset and Yayoi Kusama
To better visualize the exhibition context, we invite you to take a look at our virtual tour of the venue at THIS LINK.
