− Construction of a new 56,000-SF, LEED Platinum Whole Foods Market including complete site reconstruction

− Built on a contaminated Brownfi eld site next to the Gowanus Canal; the entire 4-acre property was remediated and re-developed to preserve the canal

− 320-kW solar array including nineteen individual solar/wind powered site parking light fi xtures and six parking lot solar canopies which provide power back to the utility grid

− Heating and cooling systems are integrated in a cogeneration plant that includes a backup generator, heat reclaim systems and chillers which provide heating, cooling, and hot water to the store

− This Shake Shack was a more complex fi t-up due to the fact that the building lacked gas requiring all equipment to run on electricity and this particular location is directly above the St. John’s University Library Archives

− A second-fl oor mezzanine was built within the space in order to accommodate the MEPs as well as the Pollution Control Unit to reduce odors escaping to spaces above

− This is the fi rst Shake Shack location to include Kiosk-only ordering for guests creating a cashless environment and an optimized kitchen for better output RELEVANT PROJECTS

− 5,000-SF tenant fi t-up of a new Shake Shack restaurant prominently located on the second fl oor of the premier retail complex and transit center, where more than 300,000 passengers pass through daily

As Senior Vice President, Len is responsible for the overall strategic review of constructi on and development goals, as well as overall program management including tenant strategies, generati on of overall development and permitti ng strategies, assembling of architectural and engineering teams, pre-constructi on scheduling, program development, design directi on, concept development, site planning and community relati ons. As the primary liaison between the client and the design and engineering consultants, Len assists the owner with design criti ques, value engineering, fee analysis, scope creep, cost avoidance and quality control.
