Schedule your departure to coincide with arrival into Israel on Monday. Mon. Arrival into Israel, or if in Israel already, make your way to Jerusalem and check into hotel of your choice to unpack and prepare to meet the group for dinner. Tue. Jerusalem the Capital: We will start the day with a view of the city from Mount of Olives then drive to the Old City Walls and walk above the Ofel digs. Entering through the Dung Gate we will spend time at the Kotel, for a driven tour of the city and a visit to Yad Sara volunteer center. Then we will drive to Government Hill and visit the Kenesset Menorah and the bird nature center. In the evening optional – Dance with Israel. Wed. Tel Aviv: Start the day with a visit to the Shalom Tower and the official Independence Hall temporary museum. Enjoy a walking tour following Independence trail and then visit to Herz- Lilienblum Bank Museum – the history of Israel through an economic lens. From there we will drive to Jaffa. Lunch at the Flea Market with time to stroll, explore and enjoy. Then we will meetup to tour Old Jaffa. Thu. We will start the day at the Yvel Jewelry factory to learn about active Zionism and the story of Ethiopian Aliyah. Then on to Mevo Horon to visit an off the beaten track gem – a reconstructed Dutch Synagogue – the story of Holocaust and rebirth. From there to Um El Umdan – the earliest known synagogue and Jewish village from the days of Chanukah. Enjoy lunch in Modiin, visit the “Kaveret” honey factory in Beit Horon and end the day at Nebi Samuel – the traditional tomb of Shmuel Hanavi. Fri. New Jerusalem: We will visit the memorial sites of Yad Vashem and then tour the Israel Museum – including the Dead Sea Scrolls and highlights of Israeli Judaica, art and archeology. From there you can be left off to enjoy Machane Yehuda market preparing for Shabbat. Sat. Shabbat Shalom – davening at the Great Synagogue or at the Kotel. Sun. South Trip: Check out of Jerusalem hotels. We will visit an open Graffiti Museum near the Dead Sea relating to the ecology of the area. From there continue on to explore Massada Palace fortress and then enjoy floating on the Dead Sea. Drive down the Arava Valley to Eilat. Mon. Day at leisure. A half-day tour is offered for those interested. Driven tour of Eilat, underwater observatory, optional sunset jeep ride. Optional day trip to Petra, Jordan – arrange with the office in advance. Overnight in Eilat. Tue. Visit Kibbutz Ketura and learn about the innovative desert farming and green energy. Enjoy the Timnah Nature Reserve with the amazing Saloman Pillars and the Copper Mine story. Overnight in Eilat. Wed. Drive via the Negev Desert to the Ramon Crater – short hike, visitor center dedicated to the Israel astronaut Ilan Ramon. Continue to Ben Gurion’s Hut in Sde Boker. Return to Jerusalem. Thu. Drive to Hevron – visit the Ariel Winery with their touching story. Continue to Marat HaMachpela. Experience the story of Gush Etzyon at the Kfar Etzyon visitor center. End the trip at Rachel’s Tomb. Fri. Free day. Sat. Shabbat Shalom. Evening return transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for return trip. Price based on double occupancy, single room occupants are subject to a single supplement. Discount for children under 12. Daily trips throughout the country. 2 Kosher meals per day – breakfast and dinner – Shabbat day lunch. One group transfer from and to the airport in Israel (group pickup will be determined by the majority of people arriving at the same time). Tour entrance fees included. Touring by air-conditioned bus, with licensed English speaking guides. Lectures and group discussions. Free time. Prices, itinerary, flight assignment and departure dates are subject to change. Changes or cancellation of airline tickets could incur penalties. Please refer to cancellation policy on the back of the reservation form. PAYMENTS : $100 Deposit per person with registration. One half of the balance is due 2 months prior to departure. Full balance is to be paid 1 month before departure. Cancellation within six weeks of departure will incur a penalty of $200.
