Basildon & District Rambling Club - WALKS PROGRAMME: December 2020 to februARY 2021 Please see info notes below the walks listing CURRENT COVID GUIDANCE We do not typically exceed an attendance of 30 members at any one walk. However if we do exceed this amount, we may split the walk into two groups, if possible, or the walk will have to be on the basis of the first 30. For this reason we suggest you book in with the leader ahead of turning up. Please take note of the walk leaders’ summary of the walk as this may have information regarding any pinch points such as stiles where social distancing may need to be considered. For track and trace purposes we will need to check who has actually turned up. This will take about 5 minutes or so and will be done shortly before the walk. In the winter months walks tending towards the shorter and summer months the longer. Please allow time before the walk starts for putting on boots etc. Any queries regarding a walk, please contact the Leader or if unavailable, phone 07906 118980 If you want to see a map of the walking area and start point, there are a number of computer apps you can do this with, such as https://gridreferencefinder.com or http://www.streetmap.co.uk Using these apps is quite straight forward but details of how to use the streetmap app is on our website. We would recommend using the grid reference, as post codes can cover a larger area. Also check any descriptions in the start point details as these may help when you get near the start. Any alterations to a walk will be notified as soon as possible, and will appear in the ‘News Section’ of the Club website. Please be aware that occasionally these changes can be “last minute” Club Notices Stay behind the leader, and keep up with other walkers and be confident that you are well enough to do the walk. However, if you decide to leave a walk before the end you should inform the leader. Please take note of the weather before a walk and prepare accordingly, water, raincoat, etc. Don’t forget any medications you may need such as hay fever tablets Whilst walking with the Club you do so at your own risk and you are responsible for your own safety. Neither the Basildon & District Rambling Club nor the leader shall be held responsible for the death, injury, accident or damage to the person or property of any members, guest or any other person occurring during or arising from participation in any Basildon & District Rambling Club activities. A Public Liability Insurance is held by Basildon & District Rambling Club for the benefit of subscribed members. This insurance does not cover personal indemnity. Sorry, only ‘Registered Assistance Dogs’ will be permitted on walks, but do check with the leader first to make sure that the walk is suitable for dogs (for example, difficult terrain or areas where livestock are present). PLEASE PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND OBSERVE THE COUNTRYSIDE CODE: KEEP TO THE PATHS, DO NOT CLIMB OVER GATES OR FENCES UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY Walks NOT on a Saturday may have different starting times and/or other arrangements. Please check our website for details. Anyone interested in leading a walk please contact Fred Taylor .
