VISION St. Thomas Aquinas High School, a four-year, college preparatory school, educates young men and women according to the traditions of the Catholic faith. Through a comprehensive program of Catholic teachings, quality education, and personal development, St. Thomas oers to its students religious experiences, academic challenges, innovative approaches, athletic programs, social and cultural opportunities, and service to others. Weighted courses reect challenging academic requirements. The strong academic program, the demanding system of grading, and the competitive nature of the students comprise signicant factors necessary in evaluating students' records. St. Thomas Aquinas High School does not rank students. The following criteria will determine these awards: • highest weighted cumulative average; • completion of all credit requirements; • all courses taken at STA, all transferred middle school grades with appropriate FLDOE number, grades from Early Bird and Enrichment courses, and all administratively approved FLVS grades; • eligible students must have been in attendance at St. Thomas Aquinas High School from the beginning of the Sophomore year and remain enrolled three (3) consecutive years; and • exemplary disciplinary record. The distinction of Summa cum Laude will be bestowed on students with a weighted G.P.A. of 5.0 or higher, at the end of the third quarter grading period of the Senior year (7.5 semesters). All courses taken at STA, all transferred middle school grades with appropriate FLDOE number, grades from Early Bird and Enrichment courses, and all Administratively approved FLVS grades will determine Summa honors.
