It hosts the main collections of ceramics, textiles, art works and historical documents. The exhibition shows the pilgrimage made in 800 to 900 BC by people of the Andes to the Archaeological Sanctuary of . This pilgrimage extended until the Inca’s period with the expansion of the Qhapaq Ñan or Inca’s Trail, connecting various regions of the Andes currently located in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. The pilgrims transported fine objects to the Pachacamac Idol in order to ensure the productivity of the land and the sea. These assets, currently on display, reveal both the hierarchy of the pilgrims and the diversity of societies that were connected by the sanctuary.

This museum is a donation of the Italian community to the Peruvian Republic during the celebrations for the Centennial of Peruvian Independence. It is the only Italian art museum outside of Italy. The museum exhibits collections of assets recovered in research projects carried out at the Huallamarca Archaeological Monument, where three different occupations were found: a ceremonial center, a cementery and a public building. The exhibition shows pottery, basketry, wood, pyro-engraved gourds, musical instruments, textiles and agricultural tools that were included as offers in the burials of important characters of Ychsma culture.

This house was the residence of the Peruvian writer and intellectual José Carlos Mariátegui, known as The Amauta. By showing his epistolary production and other personal objects, the exhibition reflects his political, literary and intellectual trajectory at the beginning of the twenty century. Also, it shows the Red Corner, an emblematic space for social gatherings to create and share the ideals of a whole generation of Peruvian intellectuals.
