  • Gymnast with Gumption Marcel Nguyen and His Team Have Won the Finale of Deutsche Turnliga 2016
newsroom Sport Dec 7, 2016 Gymnast with Gumption Marcel Nguyen and his team have won the finale of Deutsche Turnliga 2016. In an interview, the Porsche Brand Ambassador talks about luck, hard work, risk, and his plans for life after competition. “Pain is temporary, pride is forever”—that’s a motto that Porsche Brand Ambassador Marcel Nguyen also wears as a tattoo. You have tattoos and an undercut. Gymnastics is getting cooler by the day, right? I’m part of a very active generation that has probably also brought a breath of fresh air to the sport. You won two silver medals at the London Olympics in 2012. In 2016, you were one of the favorites on the bars. What prevented you from winning a medal in Rio? In gymnastics you always need a little luck. There is something subjective about the sport. But I know that my routine on the bars is one of the best in the world, in substance and in terms of individual moves. So what happened in Rio is spurring me on to become even better in the future. What part of gymnastics would you say is the most important? Everything comes down to preparation. I’m very aware of the risks associated with the sport. But fear has no place in the gym. If you’re afraid, you may as well stay home. I try to prepare myself as well as possible. You have to walk a fine line between risk and stability. You have to keep that in mind when developing your routine.

Between 1809 and 1813, the present territory of Slovenia found itself under the brief French authority of the Illyrian Provinces, and despite the fact that it was not equally favoured among all strata of the population, it contributed powerfully to raising Slovenian national consciousness and the awareness of freedoms, as well as giving credence to the Slovenian language. The short-lived period of French rule also importantly established the first seeds of Slovenian-French relations. The linden tree that was planted at that time in the Ljubljana Botanical Garden is still alive and thriving today. As a gesture underpinning the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor and French Prime Minister François Fillon, who was on his first official visit to Slovenia in the middle of May, planted a new linden, which we believe will remind the future generations of Slovenian-French friendly ties. 25 Culture 32-35 Slovenian delights Alongside historical achievements, scientific achievements are Alpine flowers in Bohinj Primorska, scent of the Mediterranean of course also very important for our future.
