More recently, HKU students have initiated and driven multiple social enterprises to tackle the UN’s set of Sustainable Development Goals and Millennium Development Goals to help put an end to poverty and hunger, support gender equality, combat climate change, and promote fair trade. HKU has also sponsored our students to attend conferences such as the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, and the Clinton Global Initiative in Florida.

Service and learning at HKU are two sides supporting the same coin. Many HKU graduates continue to contribute their talents and knowledge to serve Expanding empathy in Hong Kong underprivileged groups beyond their university years. One example is Beyond the Wall, formed by young HKU architecture graduates and students, which improves the I took part in a one-month summer programme organised by the learning environment at schools in Nepal through the installation of stimulating Society for the Welfare of Autistic Persons.
