Harrisburg, Pennsylvania St. Louis Ambush at Harrisburg Heat AT Saturday, December 8, 2018 · 7:05 PM EST / 6:05 PM CST PA Farm Show Arena · Harrisburg, Pennsylvania St. Louis Ambush at Harrisburg Heat AT St. Louis Ambush Harrisburg Heat 1-1 OVERALL 0-1 OVERALL 0-0 HOME 0-1 HOME 1-1 AWAY 0-0 AWAY 0-0 HEAD TO HEAD 0-0 HEAD TO HEAD TONIGHT’S GAME • Tonight’s game is the third of the season for the Ambush and the second for the Heat. • The Ambush split their season-opening two-game road trip to Florida last weekend when they defeated the Orlando SeaWolves on Friday and fell to the Florida Tropics on Saturday. • After starting the season with three games on the road, the Ambush look forward to their Home Opener when they host the Kansas City Comets at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri next Sunday, December 16 at 3:05 p.m. CST. • Tonight’s contest is the first of two between the Ambush and Heat slated for the 2018-19 regular season. The second will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Family Arena. • These two teams also met twice last season, with the Heat prevailing in both matches. FAMILIAR FACES IN DIFFERENT PLACES • Tonight’s game is a homecoming for Douglas Dos Santos, who the Ambush acquired from the Heat for cash considerations before the start of the season in November. Dos Santos appeared in 14 games for the Heat last season. • Although he never played for the Ambush, veteran Heat defender Marcos Chantel did play for a St. Louis team earlier in his career. Chantel appeared in 10 games for the 2005-06 St. Louis Steamers. NEW FACES ON THE AMBUSH • Ambush Head Coach Hewerton held open tryouts in Brazil in this summer, in addition to the traditional summer tryouts in St. Louis. Three new faces on the Ambush roster (midfielder Mario Marcos, defender Felipe Silva and defender Magui Souza) came from those tryouts in Brazil. • Two other acquisitions help give the Ambush a new look. Speedy midfielder Antonio Manfut was signed as a free agent during the off-season and defender Douglas Dos Santos was acquired earier this month in a transaction with Harrisburg. • The Ambush also added 22-year-old goalkeeper Marijo Musa this week just before the roster deadline for this weekend’s games. LEAGUE LEADER • In addition to the new faces on the Ambush, defender Rob Acosta is another player worth watching. Acosta led the league last season in blocked shots (49) and captured the MASL’s Defender of the Year Award. ST.
