However, according to the BIMCO/ISF Manpower report, the sector is facing a shortage of maritime professionals, particularly for certain ranks and types of ships. As the resources on land are depleting, effective exploration and exploitation of maritime resources are therefore paramount towards economic emancipation of the country in the 21st century. With the aim to produce quality human resources for the local and global maritime sector, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman July 2019, Volume 2, Issue 3 Maritime University (BSMRMU), Bangladesh has been conducting both Maritime Campus undergraduate and post-graduate programmes on various maritime disciplines. A Quarterly Publication of Bangabandhu Sheikh Realising the local and global potentials, undergraduate meritorious students Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh should aspire to become maritime professionals by studying associated subjects. Currently, the university is running four undergraduate programmes Chief Patron under different faculties. Those are BSc (Honours) in Oceanography, BBA in Port Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal, BSP, ndc, psc Management and Logistics, LLB (Honours) in Maritime Law and BSc in Naval Vice-Chancellor Architecture and Offshore Engineering. BSMRMU practices principle of Advisory Board non-discrimination which emphasises equal opportunities for everyone Commodore A M Quamrul Huq, (ND), NGP, ndc, irrespective of gender, religion and caste in education and employment.
