Ty Canol, built in 18th Century, is a unique period cottage located in the rural village of Llanfachreth, commanding open countryside views towards Moel Ofrwn and the Precipice Walk. The cottage, located on a spacious corner plot in the village, is of traditional stone construction under a slated roof. The present owners have lovingly and sympathetically restored the property and garden to an exceptionally high standard. Internal fittings are of a particular high quality, yet Ty Canol retains many original character features. The whole of the property was sandblasted and repointed in 2012, along with new fascia boards and all new aluminium guttering. The doors and windows are hardwood, painted with Holkan Hall Linseed Oil Paint (guaranteed for 25 years). Ty Canol also has the benefit of a ‘Hive’ heating control system (operated via i-pad or tablet.) Properties of this outstanding quality rarely become available and viewing is essential to appreciate the true worth. Llanfachreth is a small rural village approximately 4 miles from Dolgellau. • A Welsh Classical Dictionary
A WELSH CLASSICAL DICTIONARY DACHUN, saint of Bodmin. See s.n. Credan. He has been wrongly identified with an Irish saint Dagan in LBS II.281, 285. G.H.Doble seems to have been misled in the same way (The Saints of Cornwall, IV. 156). DAGAN or DANOG, abbot of Llancarfan. He appears as Danoc in one of the ‘Llancarfan Charters’ appended to the Life of St.Cadog (§62 in VSB p.130). Here he is a clerical witness with Sulien (presumably abbot) and king Morgan [ab Athrwys]. He appears as abbot of Llancarfan in five charters in the Book of Llandaf, where he is called Danoc abbas Carbani Uallis (BLD 179c), and Dagan(us) abbas Carbani Uallis (BLD 158, 175, 186b, 195). In these five charters he is contemporary with bishop Berthwyn and Ithel ap Morgan, king of Glywysing. He succeeded Sulien as abbot and was succeeded by Paul. See Trans.Cym., 1948 pp.291-2, (but ignore the dates), and compare Wendy Davies, LlCh p.55 where Danog and Dagan are distinguished. Wendy Davies dates the BLD charters c.A.D.722 to 740 (ibid., pp.102 - 114). DALLDAF ail CUNIN COF. (Legendary). He is included in the tale of ‘Culhwch and Olwen’ as one of the warriors of Arthur's Court: Dalldaf eil Kimin Cof (WM 460, RM 106). In a triad (TYP no.73) he is called Dalldaf eil Cunyn Cof, one of the ‘Three Peers’ of Arthur's Court. In another triad (TYP no.41) we are told that Fferlas (Grey Fetlock), the horse of Dalldaf eil Cunin Cof, was one of the ‘Three Lovers' Horses’ (or perhaps ‘Beloved Horses’).

Package North Wales Police ( UK ) Gwynedd Division Profile of the Division The mountainous heartland of Wales, and of the County of Gwynedd in particular has long been recognised as being of special significance because of its spectacular scenery and cultural traditions. Its dramatic beauty, however, is not - and has not been for many generations - completely natural, but is rather a blend of the forces of nature and the hand of man, both of which continue to shape its development. It is an area steeped in great history, but nevertheless subject of national contemporary socio-economic pressures, and the effects of a vibrant tourist industry. Gwynedd covers by far the largest geographical area (629,000 acres) of the six Unitary Authorities in North Wales, and it extends from the City of Bangor in the North to the Dovey Bridge near Machynlleth in the South, and from Aberdaron near the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula in the west to Abergwyngregyn in the East. (The Gwynedd Police Divisional boundary is coterminous with the limits of the Gwynedd Council Unitary Authority area). Gwynedd's neighbouring Unitary Authorities (and Police Divisions) are Anglesey to the North, and Conwy and Denbighshire to the East, whilst its Southern and South Eastern borders mark the boundary between the North Wales and Dyfed-Powys Police areas.
