Tackley Toddler Group T.A.G. Tackley Active Group A friendly group for 0-school age and their carers. We run on Tuesday Mornings in T.A.G. Tackley Active Group. Tackley PALs The Tackley Newsletter Tackley PALs (People Against Litter) was formed in January 2015 and is a group of The Tackley Newsletter is a free publication created, printed and distributed by people who want to keep the village and its surrounding area free from litter. Litter volunteers every other month. Articles and letters of local interest are welcome, picks are held on a Saturday approximately 6 times a year meeting at Tackley Village and there is no charge for publicising not-for-profit events. Local history talks, family history, archaeological excavations, exhibitions, pottery days: these are among the activities organised by the History Group and its 60 members. Our annual programme of talks on all aspects of local history, from the very ancient to the modern, start in September and run until the spring. They are held in the village hall on the last Monday of the month

Gardiner Arms Established in 1788, the Gardiner Arms is a lovely Free House pub, in our beautiful village. Situated in Medcroft Road, in the centre of the village, it has an attractive, south facing beer garden. Dogs and children are welcome. It has a pool table, darts and a selection of pub games. The pub hosts a weekly quiz night (on Thursdays); meat draw (on Fridays), and has regular music nights. The pub is grade 2 listed building with many original old features and a beautiful wisteria. The church provides not only a place of worship and prayer, but a meeting place for a variety of activities open to all in Tackley, and a source of fundraising for local and national charities. The main activities are: · Coffee morning held every Thursday from 10am to 12 noon. Drop in when you can for a cuppa and a chat. · Traidcraft - the sale of Fairly Traded goods; · Messy church with games and craft activities for all ages on the first Saturday of each month from 2.30 until 5.00pm. The church is also used for Pilates classes each week; Mindfulness sessions and bereavement support which are available to anyone in the village. We are one parish of a United Benefice of three (Tackley, and ). Our Rector, Marcus Green, lives in The Rectory at Steeple Aston. He is assisted by a lay minister, a Catholic priest and a retired Methodist minister. Our aim is always to bring the faith, hope and love of Christ into the heart of community life. We welcome all who would like to worship with us, or who simply wish to explore Christian faith. Our regular church services are at 5.30 pm on a Sunday evening except on the last Sunday of the month when we have a 9.30 am service. Services are varied but include Evensong, Holy Communion, Family worship and Informal. School services are held in church, usually after school but all are welcome to attend. Volunteering opportunities include daily opening and closing the church; cleaning the church; cutting the grass and keeping the churchyard tidy; and looking after the flowers and brasses. We hold two annual events when we are also happy to include more volunteers – a Christmas Fayre and a Summer Fete. The latter has been jointly with Tackley School PTA for the last few years and has very much become a community event. The Parochial Church Council meets at least bi-monthly and its members are elected by members of the church electoral roll, on a three-yearly rolling basis. Silver threads A club formed in 1965 for the over 60’s meet in the village hall every second Wednesday in the month. Outings speakers food and fun. Funded by regular Saturday evening bingo sessions.

Horse Show Contact: Pat Rolfe Tel: 331421 A traditional village horse show held in April each year, comprising a range of unaffiliated showing and show jumping classes, working and ridden hunters, as well as CHAPS qualifiers. The Tackley Horse Show is entirely run by volunteers and village groups. Funds raised by the event are donated to village organisations or to local Annual Village Events and equestrian charities.
