I hated the art (I still think it looks offBy Bradley P. ValentineI’m a HUGE fan of Peter David’s work on the Madrox led X-Factor. I was really bummed when Marvel ended that (though to be fair I bet that was more Peter David wanting to switch things up after nearly ten years on the character). I still miss Madrox and Layla. I want to know why we haven’t heard about Strong Guy’s reign in hell. Or the inevitable departure from the farm for Layla and Madrox, ha. Maybe we would have gotten those stories had this series continued. But to be honest, All New X-Factor left a lot to be desired in comparison to its predecessor. I only followed it for 5 months initially. I hated the art (I still think it looks off...it looks like there was a mishap in the printing, but it seems that’s just the style). The book took longer than it should have to find its voice. A shame because upon giving it another chance, I ended up liking where the series started to head by the end of the third volume. Too little too late, I guess. So now I miss what could have been with Gambit and Polaris, ha.I’d still like to know what Madrox and Layla are up to on their farm. No way they get a happily ever after.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. HilariousBy Majel LickissLoved this book! Wish I had found this series before it got cancelled. Serious I recommend this for people who enjoy a good laugh.3 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Support the Corporate X- Team by buying this book!By thedeanThis collects issues #1-6 of All-New X-Factor, the incarnation of the team under the Marvel NOW! banner.I honestly have never read any of the X-Factor comics prior to this, and was only vaguely aware of their existence. I am, however, a fan of the roster of this newest team, so I decided to pick this up. From what I've heard it was supposed to be good and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. The writing here is great, especially between the characters. It's a bit more of a character-driven story at this point, with basically the entire book an exercise of assembling the six-membered team they are at the end. After all, the first issue is about Gambit's recruitment and the last issue ends with the recruitment of two more, Cypher and Warlock. Of course, that means that the character interactions here really make it worth the while. You get a sense that the characters care for each other but, at their core, don't particularly like each other. When that's Gambit, Polaris, and Quicksilver, it's just hilarious how their own issues bounce around their personalities and somehow make the team work. It really shouldn't: Polaris is having a tough time keeping her self together and stable, Pietro is obviously spying on them all, Gambit is a thief, and the other three members have their own problems (such as Danger's not understanding human society at all or Cypher's suicidal depression). The artwork here is very good. The cover art is a huge drawing factor, emphasizing it's about the characters by having smack dab in the center of each one, well sized, and minimal backgrounds behind them. All the action is that which is done by the characters. The quotes on top definitely add to the flavor and character of the series without even getting into the issue. Inside the artwork isn't anything that on its own stands out but it does work wonderfully with the story presented. The one thing that I do have is that I'm not really sure what the major difference here is between a cooperation running a team and individuals. When the cooperation's motto is "We specialize in helping people" I'm seeing no difference between them and the X-men, especially since this X-Factor basically is a mutant team (Warlock is one for his species, it seems, and Danger's condition has been liked to mutation plus both are heavily affiliated with mutants). Though, what we have is good and the corporate aspect is interesting too. This new character Harrison Snow seems perfect in almost every way, being good natured and I don't think I can hate a character who appreciates a good Tolkien joke or makes a Dr. Who reference with the competition. Polaris might not have any dirt on him, and who knows he actually might not (Lorna might not be too reliable right now), but he's definitely interesting and draws your attention. He secretary Linda seems nice too, for what we see of her. A bit more dry and professional and, of course, interested in the boss. The mundane love affair story going on between them does seem a bit cliche and just set up to make a joke with Danger but, with how everything else is going, I want to see where this leads things since they suggest it will come back up.Really, it's a great read and worth a buy. You don't need much of a backstory to get what's going on, perhaps some for slight details but otherwise Peter David does a great job reintroducing characters and most certainly transmits their personalities well onto paper. X-Factor is back...like never before! Serval Industries, one of the world's most trusted names in electronics and a leader in cutting-edge internet and weapons technology, has just unveiled their newest contribution to society...the All- New XFactor! Led by mutant mistress of magnetism, Polaris, the team uses its corporate backing for the betterment of society. But with her half-brother Quicksilver, notorious thief Gambit and more by her side, can Polaris trust that her corporate masters really have good intentions? Especially when X-Factor is meant to help people, but one of their own has a dark secret?! (Hint: it's Gambit.) Be here as the team takes on their former frenemy, Danger, learns the sinister secret of Techno, Inc., and more! Experience the All-New X-Factor...brought to you by Serval Industries! • Superman: Hel on Earth Free Download
SUPERMAN: HEL ON EARTH FREE DOWNLOAD Scott Lobdell | 328 pages | 10 Dec 2013 | DC Comics | 9781401243197 | English | United States Superman: H'el on Earth Looking at other reviews I'm starting to think I was not too far Superman: Hel on Earth the mark. Supergirl returns to the present while Superboy uses his powers to save Argo City just when Krypton explodes, sacrificing his life. More filters. Even the artwork, which usually suffers in cross- overs because they are too different, works well. In the new 52 they changed all his Superman: Hel on Earth for the 'new' young comic book readers, they made his costume look cooler with the armor-like appearance and they made his personality more realistic he's more like real people are. Falling asleep for a while, she awakens at the surface of the Sun, with H'El standing beside her. He didn't. I felt bad for the guy I finished this late last night and Superman: Hel on Earth out promptly after, so didn't get a chance to get my thoughts down. Luthor taunts Superman with the fact that the only way to stop H'El is by killing him, which is something he will never do. We got a H'el who concocted a plan that was completely ludicrous and coincidental. Why is he strongest than Superman? And the whole cosmic watcher thing confused me. Enlarge cover. And just who is the fallen angel of Krypton? After all, he's always been kind of a douche. It still looks like a fun comic if you're down for senseless battles caused by inconsistent characters.
