IROWA DIRECTORY 2018 Indian Oil Retired Officers Welfare Association The Future of Energy? The Choice is Natural! Natural Gas is emerging as the fuel of the 21 century, steadily replacing liquid fuels and coal due to its low ecological footprint and inherent advantages for all user segments; Industries-Transport- Households. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil), India's downstream petroleum major, proactively took up marketing of natural gas over a decade ago through its joint venture, Petronet LNG Ltd., that has set up two LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) import terminals at Dahej and Kochi on the west coast of India. Over the years, the Corporation has rapidly expanded its customer base of gas-users by leveraging its proven marketing expertise in liquid fuels and its countrywide reach. Its innovative 'LNG at the Doorstep' initiative is highly popular with bulk consumers located away from pipelines. IndianOil is now importing more quantities of LNG directly to meet the increasing domestic demand. A 5-MMTPA LNG terminal being set up by IndianOil at Kamarajar Port in Ennore has achieved an overall progress of over 90% till now and would be commissioned by the end of 2018. The Corporation is currently operating city gas distribution (CGD) networks, offering compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles and piped natural gas (PNG) for households, in nine Geographical Areas (GA) through two joint ventures. Considering the growth potential in gas business, the Company is aggressively taking part in the various bidding rounds for Gas. IndianOil is also adding CNG as green auto-fuel at its 27,000+ fuel stations across India and is also collaborating with fleet owners and automobile manufacturers to promote the use of LNG as transportation fuel. During the year 2017-18, IndianOil's R&D Centre took up demonstration trials on the country’s first Hydrogen fuel cell-powered bus in collaboration with Tata Motors. IROWA has entered in its 31st glorious year and has achieved many mile stones for the benefits of the retired fraternity. Compilation of Members’ Directory is a gigantic task. Mr Roopeshwar Gupta, Member of the Directory Committee has gone out of the way to ensure accuracy at its best. This is a flagship programme of communication with individual members of the as- sociation appraising them the latest welfare measures e.g. positioning of Nodal Officers, Holiday Homes and upated list of Nominated Hospitals etc. Directory is published in 4 years. It is well supplemented by uninterrupted publication of IROWA News Letter quarterly. Large number of members participate, contributing stories/anecdotes/personal experiences as publishable material. Enrollment drive has made significant progress. It is for the first time that IOC has recognized the age seniority as a criteria. Consequent upon the announcement of Felicitation benefits large number of new members have been enrolled off late. IROWA has got very meaningful and cordial relations with IOC Management since its inception. It is our constant endeavour to bring to the knowledge of IOC man- agement issues pertaining to old age and other issues pending for the last few years. It is hoped that the same will be sorted out soon. Apex Body of IROWA is expected to meet shortly and thereafter a comprehensive discussion is likely to take place with Director (HR). I must express my gratitude to all our advertisers for their financial support by letting us publish their advertisements. My grateful thanks to IOC management for financial assistance without which the issuance of this Directory would have been a distant dream. I must place on record by great appreciation for the members of the Directory Committee M/s V V Jain, R D Mathur, R N Mathur and Roopeshwar Gupta who have struggled hard for making it happened.
